Welcome to another installment of Three Tune Tuesday! In this post, I'll talk about a particular genre of music: One that reminds us of Glittery Balls, Saturday Night Fever, and Lots of Hair. And yes, I'm talking about Disco.

This genre, which peaked in popularity in the decade of the 70s, has influenced countless songs in the 50 years after. Let's check some tracks and remember what makes Disco so unique.

Let's go!

Boney M - Rasputin

A song that is widely remembered by everyone. Whether It is Its somber story, telling the tales of Russian Mystic Rasputin and his demise, The soviet progression with hard-hitting drums or this song's grooviness, this is a multilayered track that will put many to dance with that Disco flavor.

Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive

You all knew this song will pop up. One of the singles from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, this track has the cockiness that characterizes this era, something that despite being overplayed all these years, never loses Its power. Everyone knows the "Ah Ah Ah Ah Stayin Alive" Chorus and recognize It from the first bassline notes, so that must tell you something.

Michael Jackson - Off the Wall

Another beast of a track that showcased one of MJ's talents: The ability to display style and play with Disco & Funk, merging both genres so effortlessly. All this amounted to a critically acclaimed album that generated a behemoth of Charisma, Grooviness, and Maturity from the then-21 Michael.

I hope you enjoyed these songs as much as I do. They give you a perspective of what life was like in those days, all while making this sound timeless. The Bee Gees, Off the Wall era MJ and Stevie Wonder's discography (Something that can have an article on Its own) are all examples of a great legacy that will continue living in music, even 50 years from now.

I really don't listen to songs from Michael Jackson because it was later I discovered him but trust me, he is indeed a great talent

Haha, you know, I don't usually do disco, but these are certainly three great ones. I never could take the Bee Gees seriously but, honestly, try not to strut when that song comes on.
