Mama's Favorite, Love Mercy and Grace
This is my rendition of a favorite Hymn from back home, my Mother's favorite for this time of year
Love Mercy and Grace was written by:
Charles Austin Miles USA 1868-1946. Born at Lakehurst, NJ, he attended the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and the University of PA. He became a pharmacist. He married Bertha H Haagen, and they had two sons: Charles and Russell. In 1892 he abandoned his pharmacy career and began writing gospel songs. At first he furnished compositions to the Hall-Mack Publishing Company, but soon became editor and manager, where he worked for 37 years. He felt he was serving God better in the gospel song writing business, than as a pharmacist.
Chorus:
It was Love that took my place
On the cross of Calvary;
it was grace, redeeming grace,
That paid my ransom full and free.
Over sin, without, within,
I have the victory,
Thro’ grace, marvelous grace,
that lives in me.
2 The love that freely al forgives
In fullness now within me lives;
Thro’ ev’ry trial this I see;
His grace is sufficient for me. [Chorus]
3 God’s love, His mercy and His grace,
Combine to raise a fallen race;
His hand is ready, ere we call,
Held out with forgiveness for all. [Chorus]
Coro:
Fue el amor el que tomó mi lugar
En la cruz del Calvario;
fue gracia, gracia redentora,
Eso pagó mi rescate completo y gratis.
Sobre el pecado, fuera, dentro,
yo tengo la victoria,
A través de la gracia, maravillosa gracia,
que vive en mi.
2 El amor que gratuitamente al perdona
En plenitud ahora dentro de mí vive;
A través de cada prueba esto veo;
Su gracia es suficiente para mí. [Coro]
3 el amor de Dios, su misericordia y su gracia,
Combinar para levantar una raza caída;
Su mano está lista, antes de que llamemos,
Extendido con perdón para todos. [Coro]

I think maybe @ironshield will appreciate this
This is indeed a perfect song for this season of Easter. It was God's grace, mercy and lobe that really combine to grant freedom to man.
This is a beautiful rendition and I must commend your effort. Kudos to you

What a gorgeous hymn ... I have a number of hymnals and chose a hymn myself for this, but I have never heard of the Cokesbury Hymnal and will have to keep an eye out for it!
They have been out of print for some while now, as far as I know anyway.
One of the best collection of old time hymns in my opinion
My father was two years old in 1938 ... wow... I have my grandmother's Gospel Pearls still, of about that same vintage ... but that makes me wonder if there are any copies still available in libraries of either one!
