I'm continuing to share my favorite movie and TV show soundtracks, and this post focuses on a series that was a huge hit and that many of you probably know, even if you haven't seen it. I know many of you didn't like the ending, but you're probably also watching House of the Dragon, whose third season recently premiered.
Of course, a series like Game of Thrones has a spectacular soundtrack, and not only that, the series was so popular and aired so much that singers and bands, both famous and not so famous, started doing covers of many songs. From videos with excellent production quality to even parodies.
I love Game of Thrones. I don't mind the bittersweet ending; I would have liked something different too, but it is what it is, and we can say that old George is never going to finish the books, so that was the ending. I'm really enjoying House of the Dragon, although there are some things and changes I don't agree with, but I'll keep watching and I hope they manage to produce the other series they're planning, about Aegon the Conqueror and how the Targaryen reign began.
To get you warmed up with these Game of Thrones music recommendations, here's a video of the Imperial Orchestra performing the main theme. It's fantastic, perfect to have playing in the background while you do something else or simply to enjoy the orchestra while you watch the video. I can't embed it; it's locked. I'm also including the Game of Thrones opening theme, but in a video with a version by singer-songwriter Jillian Aversa. She's known for her work on video game soundtracks, and I like this version of the series' theme. I have it saved in my playlist of songs from that show.

The series, set in the universe created by George R.R. Martin, also features its own songs, composed specifically for that world called Westeros. Both the official versions of these songs and fan-created versions have been released.
Everyone will remember the Red Wedding from the second season. That episode horrified many, especially viewers who hadn't read the book and were unaware of the misfortune that awaited the Starks. It was a memorable episode because they were even more cruel than in the books. No one is safe in Game of Thrones. That episode ended with "The Rains of Castamere," and from that moment on, it became one of my favorite songs. Here is the official version performed by The National with Spanish subtitles.

La serie, ambientada en el universo creado por George R.R. Martin, también cuenta con canciones propias, compuestas específicamente para ese mundo llamado Poniente. De estas canciones, se han publicado tanto las versiones oficiales de la serie como versiones creadas por fans.
Todos recordarán la Boda Roja de la segunda temporada. Ese episodio horrorizó a muchos, especialmente a los espectadores que no habían leído el libro y desconocían la desgracia que les esperaba a los Stark. Fue un episodio memorable porque fueron incluso más crueles que en los libros. Nadie está a salvo en Juego de Tronos. Ese episodio terminó con "Las Lluvias de Castamere", y desde ese momento, se convirtió en una de mis canciones favoritas. Another memorable song from the saga was "The Bear and the Maiden." The official version for the series is by the rock band The Hold Steady. I think it was for an episode in the third season, when Brienne has to fight a bear with a wooden sword. The series hadn't yet made the change that was so criticized in later seasons because there was still material from the books to adapt.

I can't help but mention the song "Jenny of Oldstones," whose version for the official Game of Thrones soundtrack was performed by the rock band Florence and the Machine. I think it's a beautiful song, and the YouTube video, which I have saved, is excellent, showing some scenes from the series. Whenever I can, I watch the video, especially when I want to remember the good times it gave me. As I said in a post I made when it ended, I don't care about the series finale; what matters to me is that I enjoyed the ride.

She's a Scottish folk singer, but she also composed and performed many songs about Game of Thrones, in addition to covering themes from the series. She has many songs inspired by fantasy worlds, so you can find lots of beautiful melodies on her YouTube channel. Although she started doing all this as a hobby, over the years, as her popularity grew, she released her own album and has original songs on various platforms like Spotify. I haven’t watched the series, which surprises even me, because I absolutely love this sort of film or series – especially if they’re fantasy and feature dragons. It’s a bit of a long series to start right now when I don’t even have time to catch my breath, but I can assure you it’s on my to-watch list, and the soundtrack is marvellous!! Of the three songs you’ve shared, I love the first and the fourth – they’re gorgeous!!! I’ve also always loved video game soundtracks… an interesting topic for another month, don’t you think? What do you reckon?
