As I do every month, I stop by here to bring those songs that have caught my attention, either for their lyrics or for their melody, that have been released in the last weeks or days. We are in the middle of summer, so it is not surprising that the songs that start to come out are much more upbeat, with a much higher and faster beat and with a sense of partying and having a good time. The artists know that this is so, this formula is repeated year after year so they take the opportunity to make a sound that goes hand in hand with the season. But everything has a price and it is that many of these songs are short-lived, that is, they only remain in the ears of people no more than 2 months, they have an expiration date, the same that lasts the summer in question. Let's listen to some of these songs then...

- Rita Ora - Don't Think Twice

Rita Ora is one of the most versatile and best-voiced artists on the music scene today, obviously this is a very personal opinion, but the reality is that the way this woman sings is very special. I once talked about underrated artists, well this is one of them. When talking about pop stars we all know the first names that are going to come out, I can assure you that Rita Ora's is not going to be heard or read and I consider that a big mistake, I think she is equally or even more talented than some of the mainstream names. This particular track encompasses everything I talked about in those first lines, it's perfect for this time of year. When you start listening to it, the first thing you'll come across is some violins, and then a light beat comes in until after a minute the song finally explodes. I really put it on this list because of its musicality, it is very catchy and pleasant to the ear and it always has the accompaniment of the violins which always sound good in this kind of songs. I really liked the song, it's a very fresh one and in Rita's voice it sounds even better.

- Hozier - Unknown / Nth

This Irish artist even though I think he is a super well known singer people don't listen to him as much as they should, I guess it is because of the style of music he develops which is very particular and unique. I would categorize him in the ballad genre but he has a lot of alternative touch, he has sounds which I have only heard from him, if you listen to his songs they all have some effects that are incorporated in the voice, in fact one of his most popular songs "Take me to church" is a good example of that. What I like about Hozier is that almost all of his songs inspire a deep calm, they are songs to relax to, they are very introspective. This one in particular is kind of acoustic as it's accompanied by just a guitar so it becomes more powerful and sincere. The lyrics talk about being alone but taking into account that the most important thing in that loneliness is to be a complete stranger to yourself and everything around you. I know this song doesn't go much with the summer theme but I think it is a good complement; I am clear that this kind of music is not for everyone, it is not something commercial but that is not synonymous of quality, it never has been. Hozier is a very good artist and performer, you just have to do your homework to listen to him.

- PNAU, Bebe Rexha, Ozuna - Stars

We could not miss the touch of Dance and electronic music and this time we come from the hand of the Australian group PNAU, Bebe Rexha and Ozuna. At first glance it seems that this combination does not fit even if you want but when you listen to the result the truth is that it surprises. Poa here I have also said that Bebe Rexha, like Rita Ora, is one of those singers that I feel are underrated despite the resounding success she is having lately. Rexha is an artist that whatever she sings will suit her, be it the typical pop song, a ballad or in this case a pure and hard Dance. Next to her we have the voice of Ozuna, for me one of the best voices in urban music and also complements very well with Bebe. I heard this song by mere chance thanks to Spotify and it really caught my attention, I did not expect this featuring at all. Perfect for the summer and a track that I recommend to everyone. The video is too psychedelic and extravagant but I think it's ok, sometimes it's necessary to go out of the box.
