El pasado domingo se llevó a cabo un nueva edición de los Grammy en la ciudad de Los Ángeles en donde bajo mi perspectiva las mujeres fueron las grandes ganadoras ya que las nominaciones más importantes fueron dominadas por ellas con mucha claridad y amplitud. Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish y actuaciones en vivo como la de Dua Lipa y Tracy Chapman dieron mucho de que hablar aquella noche. La verdad es que después de haber visto un poco la ceremonia me quedó claro de la calidad tan abrumadora que hay hoy en día con estas mujeres y es por eso que el día de hoy me decidí a traer las mejores canciones que estuvieron en boga y poder disfrutarlas con todos ustedes. Grandes temas, ya se los adelanto.
Last Sunday a new edition of the Grammy Awards took place in the city of Los Angeles where from my perspective women were the big winners as the most important nominations were dominated by them with much clarity and breadth. Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish and live performances such as Dua Lipa and Tracy Chapman gave a lot to talk about that night. - Dua Lipa - Houdini
Dua Lipa fue de esas artistas que no ganó nada el domingo pero la actuación que se marcó sobre el escenario creo que fue la mejor de la noche. Allí estrenó "Training season" junto a "Houdini" los cuales son sus más recientes sencillos que preceden al disco que está próximo a salir. Para mi Dua Lipa es de las artistas que más progresión y evolución han tenido en los últimos años porque no se si recuerdan pero ella a sus inicios fue muy criticada por su manera de bailar y moverse, verla ahora es un espectáculo. Houdini es una canción muy comercial, hay que ser sinceros, pero que no deja de ser algo muy cool de escuchar. Lo que más me gusta es la vibra que tiene, un poco a temas del pasado, es muy noventoso para mi con el sonido del sintetizador que se escucha al principio y durante la canción. La letra es una alusión al famoso mago escapista en el sentido de que está esta mujer esperando a que el hombre haga algo interesante y que valga la pena para que ella decida quedarse, de no ser así pues ella desaparecerá como Houdini. Típica historia de que uno el hombre dice más de lo que hace por lo que es hora de demostrar. Soy fan de Dua Lipa, creo que con el tiempo se pule cada vez más y poco a poco se va a ir convirtiendo en icono de la cultura pop, si es que ya no lo es.
Dua Lipa was one of those artists who didn't win anything on Sunday but the performance she gave on stage I think was the best of the night. There she premiered "Training season" along with "Houdini" which are her most recent singles that precede the album that is about to be released. For me Dua Lipa is one of the artists that has had more progression and evolution in recent years because I don't know if you remember but she was very criticized at the beginning for her way of dancing and moving, to see her now is a spectacle. Houdini is a very commercial song, we have to be honest, but it is still very cool to listen to. What I like the most is the vibe it has, a little bit of the past, it's very 90's for me with the synthesizer sound that you hear at the beginning and during the song. The lyrics are an allusion to the famous escapist magician in the sense that this woman is waiting for the man to do something interesting and worthwhile for her to decide to stay, otherwise she will disappear like Houdini. Typical story of one the man says more than he does so it's time to show. I'm a fan of Dua Lipa, I think with time she will polish herself more and more and little by little she will become a pop culture icon, if she isn't already.
- Billie Eilish - What Was I Made For?
Lo de Billie Eilish es una cosa de locos. Para que tengan contexto: la carrera de ella no tiene ni 10 años de antigüedad, tiene apenas 22 años y ya lleva 9 Grammys en su haber. Estamos hablando casi que un premio anual. Hace un tiempo hablé de ella y de lo especial que me parecía su voz y la forma que le da a cada canción ya que creo que el gran fuerte de ella es la interpretación en cada una de sus letras. Este tema en específico fue hecho para la película de Barbie, de ahí a que la letra sea tan especial y pegue tanto con todo lo que tiene que ver con ese film. En una entrevista Billie dijo que de forma inesperada este tema pasó de ser hecho para una muñeca a terminar siendo casi que una radiografía de su vida, es decir, se convirtió en algo muy personal para ella. La letra es muy top, habla de las aspiraciones, del sentido y significado de la vida, el para qué estamos hechos y de la sensación de muchas veces sentirse en un lugar no correspondido o inadecuado. La verdad es que es muy profunda, por algo se ganó el Grammy el domingo en la categoría Canción del Año. De hecho si han visto la película se darán cuenta que en el momento en el que empieza a sonar va muy de la mano con todo lo que está pasando en la historia, se fusiona todo y la experiencia es muy buena. Realmente un temazo de Billie Eilish, uno que todo el mundo debería de escuchar.
Billie Eilish is a crazy thing. For context: her career isn't even 10 years old, she's only 22 years old and already has 9 Grammys to her credit. We're talking almost an annual award. Some time ago I talked about her and how special I found her voice and the way she gives each song, since I think her strong point is the interpretation in each of her lyrics. This specific song was made for the Barbie movie, that's why the lyrics are so special and fit so well with everything that has to do with that film. In an interview Billie said that unexpectedly this song went from being made for a doll to end up being almost an x-ray of her life, that is, it became something very personal for her. The lyrics are very topical, they talk about aspirations, the meaning and significance of life, what we are made for and the sensation of often feeling in an unrequited or inadequate place. The truth is that it is very deep, it won the Grammy on Sunday in the Song of the Year category for a reason. In fact if you have seen the movie you will realize that the moment it starts to play it goes hand in hand with everything that is happening in the story, everything merges and the experience is very good. Truly a great song by Billie Eilish, one that everyone should listen to.
- Tracy Chapman - Fast Car
Además de lo que hizo Dua Lipa otra de las grandes sorpresas de aquella noche fue la repentina aparición de Tracy Chapman sobre el escenario. Tracy tenía eso de 15 años que no se subía a cantar en ningún sitio hasta que el domingo decidió hacerlo realizando un dúo con Luke Combs. Luke es un cantante de musica country que el año pasado versionó "Fast Car", el mayor hit de Chapman, de ahí a que se diera esta especie de colaboración. Muchos catalogan a Tracy como una "one hit wonder" pero yo no creo que sea tan así, ella tiene 4 Grammys, cosa que se dice fácil pero que obviamente no lo es. Pero si, Fast Car es el mayor éxito de ella lanzado por allá a finales de los 80; estamos hablando de una canción que tiene más de 30 años. Fast Car es una especie de historia que Tracy nos narra en donde ella lo que quiere es rehacer su vida porque ciertamente no le ha tocado fácil. Quiere huir, escapar a otra realidad en el carro veloz de esta persona y empezar de cero. La cosa es que conforme va pasando el tiempo los problemas que ella pretendía dejar atrás están volviendo a aparecer con esta persona nueva y el sentimiento de impotencia se evidencia mucho. En lo personal me gusta mucho esta canción, la melodía es única, es de esos temas que los escuchas una vez y es complicado que se te salga de la cabeza. Si pueden busquen esa actuacion del domingo, sigue cantando igual que siempre, fue algo muy emotivo.
In addition to what Dua Lipa did, another big surprise that night was the sudden appearance of Tracy Chapman on stage. Tracy had not sung anywhere for about 15 years until Sunday when she decided to do so by performing a duet with Luke Combs. The thing is that as time goes by the problems she wanted to leave behind are reappearing with this new person and the feeling of helplessness is very evident. Personally I really like this song, the melody is unique, it's one of those songs that you listen to once and it's hard to get it out of your head. If you can, look for that performance on Sunday, he still sings the same as always, it was very emotional.

Me encantaron los grammys sobretodo que ganara miley su primer grammy y su performance estuvo genial sin duda muchas emociones y las canciones que nos selecionas estuvieron increíbles
Así es, el primer Grammy de Miley me parece brutal teniendo en cuenta la cantidad de música que ha hecho, super merecido porque Flowers es un temazo.
