Este fin de semana se llevó a cabo en la ciudad de Las Vegas el Super Bowl en su edición LVIII, todos lo sabemos ya que es un evento deportivo que paraliza Estados Unidos y a algunos fanáticos alrededor del mundo. Pero no venimos a hablar de lo deportivo sino de lo musical y es que como bien saben el show del mediotiempo si que es algo que llama la atención de muchas personas, no solo las que están por el juego. Este año el encargado de dicho espectáculo fue Usher, siendo para mi un show bastante promedio y básico en comparación con otras actuaciones que se han dado a lo largo del tiempo. Hay quienes prefieren algo más visual y llamativo mientras que hay otros que esperan algo vocalmente perfecto. En lo personal espero las dos opciones y eso fue algo que Usher no nos dio el domingo y es por eso que el día de hoy les traigo las tres mejores actuaciones en un mediotiempo de un Super Bowl, según mi humilde opinión. Es complicado hacer un top dada la cantidad de artistas que han pasado pero creo que la idea es buscar los más icónicos tanto en show como en voz.
This weekend took place in the city of Las Vegas the Super Bowl in its LVIII edition, we all know it since it is a sporting event that paralyzes the United States and some fans around the world. But we are not here to talk about sports but about music, and as you well know, the halftime show is something that attracts the attention of many people, not only those who are for the game. This year, Usher was in charge of the halftime show, being for me a pretty average and basic show compared to other performances that have been given over time. There are those who prefer something more visual and flashy while there are others who expect something vocally perfect. Personally I expect both options and that was something that Usher didn't give us on Sunday and that's why today I bring you the three best halftime performances in a Super Bowl, in my humble opinion. It is complicated to make a top given the amount of artists that have passed but I think the idea is to look for the most iconic both in show and voice.

Quiero empezar con el que para mi ha sido el mejor show que se ha hecho en un Super Bowl. Lo de Michael Jackson hace más de 30 años fue una locura y la gente no dimensiona que precisamente siendo la época en la que fue haya podido hacer un espectáculo de la calidad y el calibre que se vio aquel día. Fue tal la magnitud que estuvo siendo ovacionado por un poco más de un minuto y medio, es decir, él se tomó ese tiempo de su presentación solo para que las personas lo aplaudieran y disfrutaran del momento. Una característica de los shows de esta época es que los artistas intentan hacer una recopilación de varios temas, pero estamos hablando de 5-7 y hasta 10 temas más o menos. Michael solo cantó tres canciones: Billie Jean, Black or White y We Are The World And Heal The World, no le hizo falta nada más. Otras de la cosas que sorprenden es que los "efectos especiales" estaban a cargo de las propias personas, es decir, todos los mosaicos y efectos visuales fueron hechos manualmente y aún así, bajo mi perspectiva y vuelvo y repito la época, se vio increíble. La década de los noventa fue la de oro de Michael, fue el momento en donde estaba más en su peak por lo que la reacción de las personas fue abismal. Vocalmente fue sobresaliente, como siempre lo fue él, presencia en el escenario y coreografías. No se si será la nostalgia pero este show fue único.
I want to start with what for me has been the best show ever done in a Super Bowl. Michael Jackson's performance more than 30 years ago was crazy and people don't realize that precisely because of the era he was in, he was able to put on a show of the quality and caliber that was seen that day. It was such a magnitude that he was being applauded for a little more than a minute and a half, that is, he took that time of his presentation just for people to applaud him and enjoy the moment. A characteristic of the shows of this era is that the artists try to make a compilation of several songs, but we are talking about 5-7 and even 10 songs or so. Michael only sang three songs: Billie Jean, Black or White and We Are The World And Heal The World, he didn't need anything else. The nineties was Michael's golden decade, it was the time when he was at his peak so the reaction of the people was abysmal. Vocally he was outstanding, as he always was, stage presence and choreography. I don't know if it was nostalgia but this show was unique.

Lo que hizo esta mujer en el 2015 fue hasta el sol de hoy de las actuaciones más icónicas que se han visto en un show de mediotiempo, incluso por un tiempo fue el más visto de la historia. Desde su entrada montada en un león, bailar con tiburones y terminar en una estrella fugaz a unos cuantos metros de altura cantando ""Firework" es impresionante por decir lo menos. Hay que mencionar que tuvo dos invitados de lujo, Lenny Kravitz y Missy Elliot, con el primero cantó I Kissed a Girl y con Missy Get Ur Freak On & Work It. Esto es otro de los elementos que diferencian estos tiempos con los pasados, los invitados. Para mi es top porque le da una vibra más de espectáculo porque por lo general nadie se espera quién va a salir y es que se da por sentado que algún famoso acompañará al artista principal. Lo de Katy fue muy bueno porque ella no solo entregó un show a la altura sino que también cantó como espectacularmente, la voz de ella es de las más potentes de la industria por lo que se sabía que sería algo de mucho nivel su interpretación, cosa que lo fue. Si ustedes ven el video y escuchan la última canción que es donde ella está "volando" por el estadio, en ningún momento flaquea, es como si estuviera sentada al lado de un piano. Hay es donde nos damos cuenta la capacidad y el control que siempre tuvo. Creo que este show será muy complicado de superar, de hecho sigo pensando que nadie lo ha hecho desde la fecha hasta el sol de hoy, es por eso que está en top de mi lista.

From her entrance riding a lion, dancing with sharks and ending on a shooting star a few feet in the air singing ""Firework" is impressive to say the least. It should be mentioned that she had two luxury guests, Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliot, with the former she sang I Kissed a Girl and with Missy Get Ur Freak On & Work It. This is another element that differentiates these times with the past, the guests. For me it is top because it gives it a more showbiz vibe because usually no one expects who is going to come out and it is taken for granted that some celebrity will accompany the main artist. Katy's was very good because she not only delivered a show at the height but also sang as spectacularly, her voice is one of the most powerful in the industry so it was known that her performance would be something of high level, which it was. If you watch the video and listen to the last song where she is "flying" around the stadium, at no time does she falter, it's as if she were sitting next to a piano. That's where we realize the ability and control she always had. I think this show will be very hard to beat, in fact I still don't think anyone has ever done it to date, that's why it's at the top of my list.

Te puede gustar o no Beyoncé o el estilo/género de ella pero lo que es innegable es que la actuación que se marcó hace 11 años fue de las memorables que se recuerden. Lo que llama poderosamente la atención de ella es la fuerza con la que toma el control del escenario, es de las pocas artistas que hay con la capacidad de llenar solo con su presencia el recinto en donde esté y esta actuación es el claro ejemplo. Ella no necesitó cambiarse de vestuario, pirotecnia ni mucho menos hacer nada arriesgado sobre el escenario, ella siempre estuvo en el mismo lugar cantando y bailando y fue más que suficiente. Cantó sus grandes éxitos que tenía para la época siendo lo más destacable la reunión con Destiny's Child, grupo que la vio nacer y crecer como artista. Beyoncé es top 3 de mujeres artistas pop de todos los tiempos, la calidad que tiene es única y sin duda de eso escuchen el "Halo" final. Como dije antes creo que una actuación de Super Bowl lo tiene que tener todo, tanto buenos efectos como un sonido y voz supremo. Es verdad que este espectáculo fue sencillo comparándolo con otros pero me quedo con que eso no lo necesitó. En este puesto pudo haber estado Lady Gaga, Madonna, Prince, la misma Shakira con JLo o hasta U2 con lo emotivo que fue en el 2002 haciéndole un homenaje a las víctimas del 9/11 pero al final la vencedora fue Beyoncé por lo arrolladora que fue aquella noche.
You may or may not like Beyoncé or her style/genre but what is undeniable is that the performance she gave 11 years ago was one of the most memorable in living memory. What is striking about her is the strength with which she takes control of the stage, she is one of the few artists out there with the ability to fill the venue with her presence alone and this performance is a clear example. She didn't need to change costumes, pyrotechnics or do anything risky on stage, she was always in the same place singing and dancing and that was more than enough. She sang her greatest hits that she had at the time, being the most remarkable the reunion with Destiny's Child, the group that saw her born and grow as an artist. Beyoncé is top 3 female pop artists of all time, the quality she has is unique and no doubt listen to the final "Halo". As I said before I think a Super Bowl performance has to have it all, both good effects and a supreme sound and voice. It's true that this show was simple compared to others but I'll take that it didn't need it. In this position could have been Lady Gaga, Madonna, Prince, the same Shakira with JLo or even U2 with the emotional performance in 2002 doing a tribute to the victims of 9/11 but in the end the winner was Beyoncé for how overwhelming she was that night.
