Discovering Vibes: My First Entry & a Shoutout to Verbal D’s ‘Only One Way'

Hey there guys I'm chukwuma James a die hard lover of good music.

I've heard so much of hive and the vibes community by my great friend @kenzzi it's been a long ride down this road as I've been procrastinating but finally took this chance to create my first post on this community.

I've been keenly observing and watching entries from random weeks and I must say that the raw talens and efforts I'm seeing is really amazing. I saw an entry that I'll love to highlight. Perhaps I'll make a music cover later but for now I'd watch, observe and write.

For the most recent VIBES Web3 Music Competition,week 35 Verbal D fused his passions Yu Gi Oh and hip hop into "ONLY ONE WAY which is set to EDM and techno and demonstrated his deep spiritual and lyrical attributes.

💡 Songwriting/Composing

The song kicks off with a violent start reminiscent of some EDM songs which rapidly changes into the reeling sound of techno and parallel hypnotic raps from Verbal D. The combination of the electronic elements with hip hop creates a harmonious blend of off sonic elements.

He's mastered the balance between an upbeat track and reflective rap verse. It explores profound perspectives spanning from deep romantic love, existence, faith, long term devotion, and more. That is why, in the chorus of this song... ''May I reach her someday, bright side of this life where the sun stay'' Lyrical magic pours from his metaphors.

In that VIBES community, an artist and judge like Verb D fully embodies a whole new level of energy when he delivers each and every line, note and syllable with so much conviction that provides dancers of pro strength an experience, never accessable before.

🔎 Personal Thoughts

I was unaware of the fact that this man here is one of the official judges of the vibes community but after drawing the attention of my mentor to this piece, I realized he was a judge. Now, I see the real reason why he is a judge— he's a lyrical perfectionist.
