Selena: The Series -REVIEW- ~ ENG / SPA ~
Hello, my dear cinephile friends! I hope you're OK! After several days of absence, I'm very happy to be here again to share with you my opinion of a series that I recently saw, it's the biographical series "Selena: The Series" which was released several years ago on Netflix, however , I hadn't had the opportunity to see it in its entirety until recently. I hope you like it.
¡Hola, mis queridos amigos cinéfilos! Espero se encuentren muy bien. Después de varios días de ausencia estoy muy feliz de estar nuevamente por aquí para compartir con ustedes mi opinión de una serie que vi recién, se trata de la serie biográfica "Selena: The Series" la cual fue lanzada hace varios años en Netflix sin embargo, no había tenido la oportunidad de verla completa hasta hace poco. Espero les guste.
Plot - Trama
This series is based on the life of the famous singer Selena Quintanilla which goes from her childhood, everything she went through with her family to achieve fame, her personal life and also her death at the hands of the president of her fan club. Yolanda Saldívar.
Esta serie se basa en la vida de la famosa cantante Selena Quintanilla la cual va desde su infancia, todo lo que pasó junto a su familia para alcanzar la fama, su vida personal y también su fallecimiento a manos de la presidenta de su club de fans Yolanda Saldívar.
My Opinion / Mi Opinión
I became interested in this series because I have been a big fan of Selena since I was a child and I liked having seen many details of her life throughout the entire series. I liked having seen Christian Serratos in the role of Selena because she seems similar to the singer to me and in my opinion she knew how to interpret her quite well, and I also liked the participation of the actors Gabriel Chavarría, Ricardo Chavira, Noemi Gonzalez and Seidy López in the main roles which, despite the criticism, I think in general they did a good job.
Me interesé en esta serie ya que soy muy fan de Selena desde que era una niña y me gustó haber visto muchos detalles de su vida a lo largo de toda la serie. Me gustó haber visto a Christian Serratos en el papel de Selena ya que se me hace parecida a la cantante y en mi opinión supo interpretarla bastante bien, y también me gustó la participación de los actores Gabriel Chavarría, Ricardo Chavira, Noemi Gonzalez y Seidy López en los papeles principales los cuales a pesar de las críticas creo que en general hicieron un buen trabajo.
The photography in general seems very good to me, and it also has a color palette that works perfectly. I decided to watch the series not only because it's about Selena, but also because I liked that her family was involved in the production and approved by them. The series has 18 episodes that are divided into 2 seasons and although I enjoyed both, personally I liked the first season more which shows Selena's beginnings in music and I liked that they included songs in the soundtrack that I hadn't heard before but that I ended up liking as is the case of "Dame Un Beso", "My Love" and "Ven Conmigo" which I find very beautiful. I think my favorite part of the series is where Selena and Chris get married because I have always found they love story very beautiful and I liked seeing it represented among other important events in her life.
a fotografía en general me parece bastante buena, y también tiene una paleta de colores que funciona a la perfección. Me animé a ver la serie no solamente porque se trata de Selena, también porque me gustó que su familia se involucrara en la producción y esté aprobada por ella. La serie cuenta con 18 episodios que se dividen en 2 temporadas y aunque ambas las disfruté, en lo personal me gustó mas la primera temporada la cual muestra los inicios de Selena en la música y me gustó que incluyeran canciones en el soundtrack que no había escuchado antes pero que me terminaron gustando como es el caso de "Dame Un Beso", "My Love" y "Ven Conmigo" las cuales me parecen muy bonitas. Creo que mi parte favorita de la serie es en la que Selena y Chris se casan ya que su historia de amor siempre me ha parecido muy bonita y me gustó verla representada entre otros eventos importantes de su vida.
Finally, I would say that although it's a series that many considered not so good, as a fan of Selena I really liked watching it because I really liked knowing many aspects of her life and her artistic career which, as we already know, was unfortunately cut short by her premature death. I would really like to recommend the series to everyone who hasn't seen it yet, especially if you are a Selena fan, I hope you enjoy it!
Para finalizar, diría que aunque es una serie que muchos consideraron no tan buena, a mi como fan de Selena me gustó mucho verla ya que me gustó mucho conocer muchos aspectos de su vida y su carrera artística la cual como ya sabemos lamentablemente fue truncada por su prematura muerte. Realmente me gustaría recomendar la serie a todos los que no la hayan visto todavía, en especial si son fans de Selena, ¡espero que la disfruten!.
