TTT: Michael Jordan has his mom to thank for a portion of his net worth
Yesterday, while battling with morning hunger and waiting for the sun to come up so I can rush off and cook something, I decided to see a movie to help me bear the slow motion of time. When I saw the movie, Air, even the intro looked boring, plus it was basketball.
I don't have anything against basketball, it's just that the last time I tried reading a novel that was centered around the game, I couldn't understand some of the terms and I had to keep looking them up which took away the fun of the reading. This explains why this movie did not strike me as though it would be interesting.
But it was... Full of lessons too.
It was centered around the basketball legend, Michael Jordan, and how Nike had to build a brand around him to get him to wear their brand and help with publicity. It took a lot of work and courage to get him to agree but everything was worth it in the end. Plus, I loved how his mom looked at his future and knew he would do well and thus, asked Nike to pay for what her son was worth.
So apart from the $250k that was in the agreement and the car, his mom made Nike sign Jordan to get a percentage for every shoe sold that had Jordan's identity engraved. It was a big move and I was happy that it was accepted too.
So, the first song I am sharing which is linked above for #ttt is one of the soundtracks used in this movie, titled, Time After Time, by Cyndi Lauper, and this song brings up my childhood as I remember everything I went through as a child and all the beautiful memories came flooding back.
Now, I met Chloe Adams for the second time four days ago on @whywhy's blog. He shared a lot of songs in that blog post but this one stood out for me because I could completely relate to having a lot of things going on in our heads and anxiety takes its toll on us every day but the doctor or anyone around us will always tell us that it's fine.
No one truly knows what we are going through, thoughts that give us insomnia. We could turn and turn on the bed all night and finally drift off to sleep by 5 am. We all wish we could go back to when we were young and had fewer worries. But we are adults now and there's no going back.
When I listened to my old tracks yesterday while engaging on Hive, this song came up, I knew this is it, the third song to share with you today. Why? Again, I could relate to Jon Bellion's family talking about missing him and the only way he could communicate with his family is through social media platforms that they all use.
He could be traveling around the world making his family proud, but his soul is in New York. I could relate to this because I think that's my life there. I am many miles away from my family and the only way I get to see and talk to them is by calls and a few chats or emails here and there. I could be out here trying to make them proud but my soul is back home just as Jon Bellion said in his song, New York Soul

This is my first time seeing the Time after Time video. I'm not sure what the message is because she seems to be trying to leave her love. As far as the other two go they are just as sad.
The last song is a bit confusing as well. Why does he not just go home to visit his family?
It's the first time I saw the time after time video too but the message is mostly having love, letting go, but knowing that you'll be there if they need you.
If I don't have an answer as to why I can't go home yet. Then, Jon Bellion must have had the same difficulty answering this question if thrown at him

I haven't seen this movie, but I recently watched a documentary series about Michael Jordan. And it was awesome! And really, his mom played a big role in his life. A very smart woman.

I must confess I thought the same thing too.
His mum was smart enough to pave a great future for him by making Nike sign that deal.
But I also wondered if he experienced any pressure to do his best of best in every game he played because everything depended on it.
He was very talented and more than that. He also knew how to work every day more than anyone else. So he got better than many in every new game. His story is very inspiring!
