Dreams! More dreams! And gratitude!

I was watching a movie scene when I found this song. I had totally forgotten about her, and the song, so when it popped up I was happy to know that here is my song for #ttt.

I particularly liked the part of the lyrics that was chosen for that scene because I could relate. And I'll share with you the verses in a moment.

You see when we were much younger we used to think living our dreams will be easy. It will be a straight route, we will just jump into it and that's it! But growing into adulthood and life messing up with our schedules really taught us, we can make plans, but life can get in the way sometimes. But this doesn't mean we should give up, at least, that's what the adults tell us. Isn't it? Of course it.

There's another bit of gist around this song that I wanted to share. When I got to YouTube and decided to stop and check out the lyrics video. I saw a comment that I could completely relate to again... lol.

The user said finally getting to understand this song messed up his fun. And I think so too. If not that the movie chose that part of the lyrics for their soundtrack, and if I had stumbled on this song another way, I would have been as disappointed as he was.

As a kid, It was cool to just sing the chorus and jumped around the house without knowing what she said in the rest of the song. So, learning the rest of the lyrics on Sunday while deciding to write for #ttt in advance was indeed messed up.

Look at the bright side, the song popped up at the right time and I am glad I learned the lyrics especially the part I connected with which the movie used as the soundtrack.

Speaking of dreams and fulfilling them, I was in the bathroom today when this song fell upon my lips. I just sang the lyrics as I remembered without a care in the world. Until I paused and started singing slowly while watching my lips move in the mirror and something out of nowhere struck.

This song matched the first one above. Why? Sophia talks about dreams, suddenly realizing you might not be able to fulfill them, and then making up your mind to believe in your dreams and make them come true.

Now, this last song is special to me not because of the lyrics or anything. It's just the rhythm. Every time someone plays this track I remember last year, by this time, I was so close to getting out of debt, and then someone walked into my life and everything came spiraling down the drain again. This song reminds me of how I was so close towards the end of May last year to be debt free and how I couldn't wait to make that post with deep appreciation in my heart.

But here we are, a year later, I have twice the amount I was left with last year to clear up and be free. Even with that, this song still inspires gratitude in my heart for how far the universe has brought me and how the Almighty has been helping me come out of every situation strong. This debt might still be staring at me in the face today but I know it will be gone soon if I don't give up. If I was able to do it the last time, I will be able to do it again.

So this song came out around this period last year, and I remember being so happy and beaming with joy. This song still makes me smile and want to dance with gratitude as I used to do last year. Don't look for the meanings of the lyrics, just move your body to the rhythm and I hope it inspires joy inside of you as it does with me.
