Creative Sunday Wk 55 - Learn how to Create Album Covers of your Favorite Song
The video you are watching is not perfect and you have to forgive me. I was in a hurry to finish up because I borrowed the laptop from a friend and he needed to be in church a few hours later.
While I lay in bed last night thinking about what I should do for #creativeSunday, nothing was forthcoming. I would have done a food recipe but I did not have the resources to make the purchase nor the time to start preparing a dish owing to the fact that I was too stressed yesterday to do that.

It was while I was thinking hard that I remembered that my friends in the city have been asking me to join them on Hive Open Mic and Afri-tunes Community and I always decline because of the issue of having to be present on the video.
Last night, I remembered I could still do a song but instead of using myself on the video, I'll turn it into a cover with different scenes as I usually see in most music videos. I already have video-making skills using Canva since I use it for all my Leofinance videos. It was easy to think it through. All I needed to do was record myself singing to an instrument and then merge it into a video with different scenes.
I did not want something that would take too long since time wasn't on my side. This is how I thought of Pictory AI. But the only problem was that, unlike Canva, Pictory doesn't work on mobile and that's how I ended up in my friend's place as early as possible so I can finish on time and he'll head to church and everyone wins.
Without wasting much of your time, I want to apologize for how both the audio and video came out, it's my first time, and perfecting this wouldn't have been possible with such a short timeframe. I'll try to do better next time...
So if you wanted to create a music video or a cover for your favorite song and you did not want to go through Canva and be the one setting the timing and stuff, then, you can work with pictory ai and still get an awesome result. So, let's get into the process.
First, you open the Pictory AI site on your desktop or computer. Sign up with your mail. You'll see an interface opening up and asking you if you want to do either four of these options
• Script to Video
• Article to Video
• Edit Video using text
• Visuals to Video
For this video, I chose the first option because I could just head right to Google and get the song lyrics.
The next preview I saw was the templates for my video. I had difficulty choosing one but I finally chose the dove square and went straight to the next step.
Once I clicked on the dove square template, I was asked to choose the fitting that is the aspect ratio, and I choose the 16:9 so it will look good on mobile,
I copied the lyrics from Google and had it past on the editor that appeared on the next screen which is the script editor. At this point, you could edit your script and remember that each line will be turned into a scene so adjust the length of your text to suit the desired result.
After I was okay with what I had, I hit the proceed button and moved to the next step. At this point, the screen load, and I have to wait for it to create the scenes for me.
I got to see each scene from the storyboard and it looked really cool, all the clips the AI thought fit the script were added automatically.
When the scenes have been created, I added the voice-over that I had recorded. By that I mean the recorded song of mine, I prepared at home before heading to my friend's place.
My voice might be cranky and stuff, and that's because I did it late in the morning around 3 am and I did not want to disturb my neighbors.
After I added the voiceover, I choose the option that said, "entire scene". You will find it once you hover your mouse over the three dots you are seeing on the audio screenshot.
This makes the voiceover get spaced into each scene, without missing a beat. I have a feeling it would have come off as perfect timing if I did not change most of the clips that came after the scenes were created.
By this I mean, you can always tweak the clips in those scenes and decide on which clip suits the scenes. Just head over to the visual tab and you will find a range of clips to choose from. So I did change a lot of scenes that did not send the message right.
Even with that, I struggled to find the perfect scenes. Left for me I would have loved all the scenes to have snow and kingdom like the original movie but there was nothing I could do since I wouldn't be able to shoot my own videos... Lol.
But I was content with the fact that I learned how to use Pictory and I knew if I had the chance to do it again, I'll do it better than I did today.
After you are done with the scenes and added the voiceover. You can run the preview to see that it's fine.
This part almost gave me a heart attack, there was an intro but Pictory did not allow my intro because I was using the free version. So my video started with the intro and the scenes did not match, I had to go to an app called Voice Changer on Play Store and trim the audio.
I did not know how to do that with Pictory and I was running out of time with my friend already standing over my shoulder in a bit to hurry up so he can leave for church.
I had it trimmed and deleted the old audio and replaced it with this new one without the intro. This and changing the images is what I think makes the progression slow or fast depending on the scenes that you noticed missed the timing and subtitles.
So when you are done previewing and you are okay with what you get. You move over and download. It will be stored in your Pictory account and you can download it to your device and do whatever you want with it.
Share with your friends or publish on Hive. Again, the Pictory ai watermark will be there unless you upgrade by paying between $19 -$99 depending on your needs.
I choose this song because we all have a lot of fears and doubts in our hearts and letting them all go will not only free us, but we will be able to break the limitations that those fears set for us and be whatever it is we wanted to be.
Try creating a video with Pictory and let me know how you fared. All the best.
