Hello brothers and sisters, We are IndonesiaBersatu, a Punk Rock band from the city of Medan, Indonesia. Today we played three of us. So, the weekly event #openmic has now entered its 163rd week with the theme Passion for Art. This theme was chosen by our best friend and highlight artist of the week @albertocoachbl. This is a cool and interesting theme, so we brought you an original song entitled Ekspresikan Jiwa. In English, this means Express Your Soul. We wrote this song on the same day and played it with an acoustic guitar and a virtual drum app. Actually, I wanted to play this song with my bass, but, one of my bass strings broke, so I had to play virtual drums.

As humans, we often do things against our will. Especially doing things that are useful for us and can meet our needs, both basic and spiritual needs. Creating with art is one of the activities that can give us satisfaction because creating with art can channel our emotional/flavoured desires, creating with art can also generate positive values in our lives. Art is part of the culture and a means by which we express a sense of beauty from within. Art is complex, created from ideas, notions, values, norms, and regulations.

Art plays an important role in our lives by providing a means to express ourselves, express emotions, communicate, and reflect on the world around us. Expressing the soul through art is a powerful way to convey and describe our feelings, thoughts and experiences. Through art, we can explore and express emotions, ideas and thoughts that are difficult to express in words alone. Not only that, for me, art can reflect and criticize the world around us. Artwork can be a social mirror, reflecting reality, social issues, and the problems that you and I are currently facing.
