Hello Hive Open Mic brothers and sisters who remain in good spirits. Greetings and blessings to all. My name is Zein Grind from @indonesiabersatu band, returning to the weekly #OpenMic event which has entered its 198th week, with the theme "Rebelión" chosen by our friend @rasecdus. It's very interesting and I'm very excited to discuss this theme.

For this week, I performed a cover song that I dedicated to the 198th week of Hive Open Mic called Negaraku, Penjaraku. In English, My Country is My Jail. This song was written by Bunga Hitam. They are a legendary Punk Rock band from Jakarta, Indonesia. The song is a critique of the authoritarian state of the country during the New Order era (1966 - 1998).

When the Old and New Order came to power in Indonesia, excessive militarism took over the lives of the people. Authoritarian rule and the suppression of those who dared to speak out for justice created an atmosphere where the state seemed to be a prison for its people. Excessive militarism often results in authoritarian rule. Human rights are ignored and individual freedoms are restricted. People live in fear and under close surveillance. Those who dare to speak out for justice are punished without due process. This creates an unsettling climate of injustice.

However, amidst these bleak circumstances, there were those who dared to resist militarism and seek justice for the people. These rebels are heroes fighting to change an unjust situation. They faced great risks, but their courage was unwavering. With the spirit of resistance, they sought to overthrow the militarist regime and build a more democratic society. Although the challenges faced were enormous, the hope for change remained alive. With resistance and awareness of injustice, people can hope that one day militarism will no longer rule the country and people can live in freedom and justice. Change takes time, but with determination and hard work, the people can achieve a better future.

Indonesian Lyrics

Aku cinta, negaraku yang berseragam
Negara yang berbicara dengan senapan
Seakan bersuara seperti intervensi
Ku tak tau kemana arahnya

Aku bukan seorang patriotik sejati
Yang menunggu dering telepon penuh misi
Ku tak mau mati seperti mereka
Ku tak tau ucapkan revolusi

Ooo...
Negaraku
Ooo...
Penjaraku

Merah putih, lambang bendera yang tercinta
Negaraku, penjaraku yang tersayang
Ku bahkan tak tau artinya kebebasan
Menyerah pada akhir ketukan drum

English Lyrics

I love, my country in uniform
The country that speaks with a gun
As if sounding like an intervention
I don't know where it's going

I am not a true patriot
Who waits for the phone to ring with a mission
I don't want to die like them
I don't know how to say revolution

Ooo...
My country
Ooo...
My jailers

Red and white, my beloved flag
My country, my dear jailor
I don't even know what freedom means
Surrender at the end of the drum beat

From this week's theme, rebellion against militarism is an important step in seeking justice for the people. In a country trapped in oppression and injustice, the struggle of rebellion is a hope for a better change.

In making this music video, I used the RealDrum app from my android phone to create the drums. I used Adobe Audition CC to record guitar, bass, and vocals, and edited the audio in the software. After the audio was finished, I used Capcut to edit the video. Thank you very much for listening to the cover song that I played, I hope you like it. Greetings and blessings.

Bro, before moving on to the song, your writing reminded me of the words of Simón Bolivar, who was the liberator of several South American countries and who was born in my country Venezuela, he said: "When tyranny becomes law, rebellion It is a right." I think it couldn't have been more precise, thanks to him several tyrants fell and let democracy be part of the history of the countries he liberated. However, not everything is pretty, we know that when a country frees itself from totalitarians, others will always appear in the future following that path and that is what we currently see in many countries around the world, how ironic, right?

I liked the production of your video, I know that it is not easy to synchronize instruments and voice, but you always do it well my rock brother and I congratulate you for it since this cover turned out great 🔥🔥🔥

I send you a big hug and thank you for being a spokesperson for that silent rebellion that one day will be heard and will prevail in the face of injustice and inequality 🤜🤛... You Fuc&%$ Rockkk!!! 👊😎🔥🎙️🎸🎶❤️🌟🍻💥💫💯

That's absolutely right my bro. Regimes that are overthrown by new regimes are not necessarily fine. There will definitely be problems in every revolution. It's the same in many countries. Btw, Thank you so much for liking my performance in this video. There are still a lot of my shortcomings in playing a song. Hahaha 😁😁
