Money, Money, Money

Someone was lamenting a few days ago, saying she just received her pay (salary), and it was gone in a few blinks. Bills, mortgage, and other payables took most of it. She could only treat herself to a kwek-kwek. (For the uninitiated, Kwek-kwek is a street food made of quail eggs coated in an orange batter and deep-fried to golden).
Funny, but it's a reality to some (if not most) people. For some reason, her amusing rant replayed in my mind today that I was humming 'money, money' money' while making dinner, lol!
That actually inspired today's two three tunes. And here's the first, by the Swedish pop group sensation.
ABBA - Money, Money, Money
Released 49 years ago as the second single on the band's Arrival album, this song was originally titled 'Gypsy Girl.' It topped the charts in various countries during that time.
I love the upbeat melody, which makes it fun to listen to. Accordingly, Billboard reviewed it, saying it's a "fast-paced song with lots of good-natured gimmicks."
Anyway, here's the next tune, which still has money, money, money in it.
Jessie J ft B.o.B - Price Tag
Catchy, upbeat, and fun. It's a feel-good track that is so easy to remember. This song was released in 2011 as part of the singer's debut album, Who You Are. It topped the charts in the UK and also in other countries, becoming the singer's biggest hit.
The singer's powerful vocals make the song quite memorable. That's probably why it was the first tune that came to mind, hence I got to hum it while cooking.
And finally, the third tune (still about money) is a mix of hip-hop and pop, with R&B elements, by a Thai rapper and a K-pop band (Blackpink) member.
Lisa - Money
The song, featuring boastful lyrics, was released in 2021. It was the singer's second top-ten hit on the Billboard Global 200. Accordingly, it became one of the longest-charting songs by a K-pop female soloist. It surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify 2 years ago, making Lisa the first K-pop solo artist to earn a Guinness World Record. What an awesome feat!
And there goes my three 'money' tunes in participation in the TTT initiative by Ablaze.

Haha, I can totally relate to that “salary gone in a blink” feeling. It’s funny until it happens to you, then it suddenly becomes character development 😅. But honestly, your story made the perfect intro to this money-themed playlist!
Hehehe, relate din ako sis dun SA rant niya. Ngyayari din Yan SA akin. Minsan kulang pa🥵. Famous man ang no. 2 song. Lagi KO Yan narrinig😬
I like all the songs
Well, they may seem not of my age but it’s good to explore
Thank you!
Good related tunes!
I can relate to the bills speaking for the money before it even comes in. It is easy to mourn the fleeting bank balance but I like to focus on the benefits of providing for my family, having a home with communication, food, heat, clothing and clean water. Surely the majority of people around the globe would trade what they have for what I do no matter how tough it seems.
Also seems weird but owning a home and building a million dollar capital asset while living in it is a privilege these days.
Anyhow, let us count our blessings and do what is in our power to be able to keep having that Kwek-kwek and maybe having enough left over to buy someone else one day
Lol everyone struggle on these days, if you have a kid it's litterally too much for expensive... The second music is my thing!

I completely agree with you, whenever salary hit, they seem to be gone in just a few hours. For me, it’s often over within three to four hours. We wait for them all month, but as soon as they arrive, they disappear so quickly.
Seeing your caption " MONEY MONEY MONEY", I rushed immediately thinking that you are giving money, and I came to grab some🤣. !LOL
Among those three songs, I liked the first one most.
