There's a lot of worst things going on in the world, using phone isn't amongst those things but there's like a few things that are different, changing over the time because of phones
But first let's talk about how long a person can live without a phone.
I only leave my phone alone when at work
My screen time has been reduced a lot after becoming employed miraculously now I only use phone at home that too for 3-4 hours only
Back then i used to spend 12hrs a day on phone without getting bored
I used to watch those series and movies one after another but now there's not many left to watch so kind of got bored already.
But still there's an interesting series my screen time would instantly jump up again like recently finished both of severance season in two days so that increased my phone usage by 3x.
Otherwise after doing 9hrs shift at work you don't have a lot of time to be on phone.
Can't go without a phone anywhere
Mobile phones is the basic need nowadays and no one go anywhere without their smart phones either in their pocket or their hands, there's no in between
And it makes sense cause we can access a lot of things just through our phones which is amazing
And when I said I can't go anywhere without phone I mean it
Like even the toilet doesn't feel like it when you don't have phone - can't even poop without phone, uh not me but countless people who'll relate
Taking phone while getting a shower makes sense cause the music gonna hit different there so I do bring phone with myself everytime I take a shower.
Not many people can eat without it
There used to be a time when family gathering while doing a dinner was thing nowadays that has turned into YouTube and dinner
If not YouTube it'll be Netflix and dinner cause people can't swallow a bite of that food without phone

You'll call it phone addiction but that's just how our mind is wired too do things now.
And we have involved phone in everything so it just became a normal thing for many of us.
The best way to get away from it
I remember going to my hometown and that's where I use to touch grass daily which was being away from phone and sitting on the meadow admiring the beautiful view
Your eyes will be in different kind of peaceful state when you're in nature you'll want to take a picture of that view but than you won't take your mobile out of that pocket cause it's just better to view it as you see
Or the second better way is to get strict parents or someone elder in the home you fear..use mobile too much that they take it away from you
Happened to me once and I couldn't get near to my phone for a whole month which felt like living in a prison but it was much needed for my mental health.
In the end I hope you're not addicted to phone and can go on about your day without your screens but for how long? Do share your thoughts in the comments.

It's become an addiction is what it's done. I am one that can actually go without it. I like to do that quite a bit actually. It's great to be able to disconnect for a while. They are great tools to have, but when it overtakes your life it when it becomes a problem. It's vital to have access to communication, but I come from that last generation where we didn't have access to phones all the time so I know how to survive without it, lol.

Yeah, they don't really know how to function without them anymore. I tried to not spoil my kids that way or make them reliant on the phone, even though I worked for Apple for years. My son can read a good ole map and find his way without GPS... My daughter, not so much, lol. They are also almost 26 and 21, so there's that. Now, Gen Alpha on the other hand... That's some scary shit, lol.
