Afri Anniversary // Johnny and I
It all just kind of happened, it was love at first sight, no I would say, love at first listen.
So he released his first single in 2015, wait for me ~ Johnny Drille. I was in my dad's car heading to school, when suddenly the radio station started playing his song. I fell instantly even though I didn't know the name of the song then. I wrote down the lyrics hoping to find out the name of the song. I didn't have an android phone so I couldn't even search for it.

I sang the song to different people hoping that someone would know and tell me who my mystery lover was. All my effort seemed useless and I gave up for a while. One day, I heard the song again and I felt he was talking to me because in the lyrics of the song he said "wait for me." I couldn't help myself, I had to find him.
I was in school and we had practicals in the ICT room, we had access to computers and the internet and there and then I hurried with my school work and I searched for the lyrics of the song. I found out that Johnny drille was the one I had been looking for all along. I was so happy that I knew him.
My love for him didn't stop, it only grew stronger in my heart.
Years passed with no access to the internet or a means of getting to my love. How was he doing? His music career must have skyrocketed, he must have become famous already.
This was the year 2020, I got my first android phone and even before downloading WhatsApp messenger, I went to the web to look for my love. On the search engine I typed "Johnny drille." Then, I found out that he is John ighodaro, he was born on the 5th of July, 1990. He hails from Edo state, Nigeria. Both of his parents are still alive and he has four siblings (what a beautiful family to get married into) I thought to myself hehe. He attended the university of Benin (UNIBEN) where he studied English and Literature. He participated in project fame west Africa in the year 2013, even though he didn't win. And yes of course, my baby had gone far, he was signed by one of the biggest record labels in Nigeria,"Mavins record." I was really happy that at least the world knew about him. I loved him from a distance hoping that one day we would meet in one of his concerts and our eyes would meet and he would fall in love with me instantly (what a fantasy I had hehe) I thought of the day we would get married and he would personally sing in my ears as we waltz round the hall, me beautifully dressed in my black wedding gown (yeah you read that right) and him looking absolutely handsome in his white tuxedo.

At this point I was obsessed with him, I clearly was madly in love with him, everyone in my life knew about this obsession but how feasible were my dreams of getting married to a famous artist who was way older than I was. I didn't care, I just had a dream and wanted to live it. I knew all of his songs and I took interest in "mystery girl" because I could relate with it and "bad dancer" because I knew that was the perfect song for our wedding dance. I loved his style of music, it was calm, simple but yet spoke so effectively to the soul. Johnny had my heart......
Early in 2022, the bubble of childhood I was wrapped around in finally burst, I started seeing life differently, I was already in the university maybe that's why. I sat down and thought to myself and realized how foolish I was thinking that our love story could ever be. He most definitely had someone he liked already, he was definitely not waiting to find a random teenager who had a secret obsession with him. Then I told myself the truth and accepted it, the only thing I wanted was to be a faithful and supportive fan and he would most definitely perform at my wedding even if I can't get married to him. I fell for a boy in school and we planned our Johnny drille wedding (funny) but then he broke my heart into a million little pieces.
With the help of Johnny drille and his soul touching music I was able to heal.

Ps: if you are in love and need the perfect song to dance with your lover, Johnny is there for you and if you want to love again he will surely rekindle that flame of love.
Till this very day I still have not met my one true love (Johnny drille) but as I have openly expressed my love I will also let you all know when I meet him. That day will be loud (I was blushing as I wrote this part)

Oh my! someone is in love with one of my favorites singer, the things I love about Jonny Drille is his voice, always give me goosebumps..lol and his songs are classic.
When I was much younger, I'm always attracted with some artist, but to be realistic, it's infatuation.. hehehe, simply because I love their performance ....

My friends call me crazy because of this obsession, they also ask me why I am living like my life is a fairy tale, well that's because I only live once.
I am happy that clarity came along and I don't have a confused love story with him in my head anymore and yes definitely my wedding hopefully will be literally screaming Johnny drille.
Not just love, Johnny drille is a really passionate singer and songwriter, he is very careful and intentional about his lyrics, his songs are really good with in-depth meaning and relatable to our normal lives. You could listen to "something better"- a man accepting his flaws not wanting to taint his woman so trying to let her go to find happiness but then love heals and maybe she could heal a broken heart.
