Hey Bully!

(Edited)

A lot of things have been going through my head since the day I watched the AIRawabi School for Girls season 1 and 2. I have seen so many high school movies that highlight bullying but never have I seen a movie that depicts bullying in its raw state.

As a viewer, you just can't help but feel really sorry for the girls that were being bullied and if you are a softie like me you might just end up crying.

Both series ended on a sad note and I was forced to read more about them online. While surfing through the net and looking for answers I stumbled on Hey Bully by Morgan Frazier which was released in 2013.

I listened to this song over and over again and I kept wondering how the lyrics of this song could be so true, how it conveys everything people who are being bullied go through. I concluded that the songwriter might have been bullied as a child as the emotions in the song were so real and after listening to the song I couldn’t help but feel a certain way.

I did a quick research about her and I discovered that she was indeed bullied when she was a child. In one of her interviews, she said her mum had moved her from a public school to be home-schooled, this shows the gravity of the bullying she had experienced back then.

According to Morgan in one of her interviews, she was of the opinion that bullying used to be an 8 to 4 thing back then, as children experienced bullying more in school than in any other place but right now it is a different story all thanks to technology as bullying now happens round the clock.

It's disheartening to see people bully other people. Like how do you just wake up one morning and your agenda that day is to be mean to another person?

I have heard people say shit about me countless times but I have never been bullied before as I always stand up for myself but I have seen people being bullied and getting bullied over and again is not funny, as with every episode you hate yourself more and question your existence.

In Hey Bully Morgan highlights what people who are being bullied go through. There are so many people out there who are trying to hide their insecurities and the best way is to be mean to other people.

Did someone hurt you,
Make you feel small

Just like I always tell people, The world is tough as is it, do not be the reason why another person feels bad about themselves or second guess themselves, do not be the cause of another person's pain. A lot of people use "I am Joking" as an avenue to dish out nasty things to people.

Over here the trend is to mess around in the comment sections of people's posts. A user posts a picture or a video, and the majority of the comments would be about people spotting one mistake or the other of the user, you see people making some nasty comments and the other set of people laugh at these comments and cheer these sets of bullies on, You can imagine how the user feels.

People need to understand that we all don’t have thick skins, what the next person would probably laugh at could be the reason another person breaks down. Words do hurt more than anything, and the more people get to understand this the more we all can live peacefully in this world.

Morgan who was a victim of bullying did not hold back as she let it all out from the victim's point of view. The song is more of a letter addressing "BULLIES".

This song inspires me in so many ways. It gives an sight of what people who are bullied go through and it also gives me a thousand reasons why I must continue to stand up for these victims as it takes nothing from me.

Listening to this song I am utterly grateful for being able to speak up for myself, not being a coward, and not letting people bully me.

Hey Bully
If you are looking for what to listen to, I recommend you listen to this song.

Bullying is a silent killer that most don't realize. Words are powerful and hence verbal bullying which is less likely looked at is the most dangerous form of bullying.

Let's learn to inculcate kindness into our daily routine as we meet people. Stop the bullying, it ain't funny

It’s so hurtful what people who are pained do to another as though to make them feel their pain. (Hurt people hurt others) I feel bad for the bullies and even worse for those who face their brunt❤️‍🩹

It sure does. Most atimes I feel like a spectator watching the scenes play out as though not real and other times I'm in it.

It is an act of insecurity from the side of the person that bullies. You gave a very good example in people posting and others saying nasty things about the person while the laugh over it. The care less about how their actions affects the victim. Bullying is evil.

Yes bullying is evil and with everything happening in the world people have still refused to change.

Sadly, bullying is one of the rampant problems in the society. People can be mean and I sometimes wonder if they ever realize what they do. Thanks for sharing the song, listening to it now.

I hear people say that bullying is often (but not always) an effect of a person being treated negatively and unfairly by people more powerful than them, such that they try to avoid the negative feeling by doing the same to others. 🧘🤓

A lot of them don’t realize what they do which is surprising.

Thanks for sharing the song, listening to it now.

You are welcome.

One of the minus points of tribal mentality is that bullying behavior can become a part of the "culture" For eg. ragging that happens in colleges, and all the hazing that happens for American fraternities, all point to a lot of importance given to the bullying activity itself. If we look at movies too a lot of so called jokes and pranks are really bullying activities in the low down. And if we try and point it out we are called out as woke :(

Good article on an important issue @ibbtammy I don't think I have the courage to watch the show myself but will spread the word.

Cheers from another #dreemerforlife

I totally agree with you Brij, we need to spread the word, and people need to understand the harmful effects of bullying.

I don't think I have the courage to watch the show myself but will spread the word.

The issue of bullying worried me a lot as my children reached school age. For the male child in his second year, he had to defend himself just as he had taught him to do, which led to me being summoned to school. But it was enough. He was never bullied again and today he is a very normal adult.
The girl also received my instructions to defend herself if necessary. At least he didn't suffer much other than the usual altercations between students, all normal. If teachers cannot be attentive to these cases and parents cannot be our children's bodyguards, they need to learn to defend themselves. It is my opinion. I liked the song. #dreemerforlife

AIRawabi School for Girls season

That movie is top tier I didn’t know there was season 2

Bullying is really a bad thing and we mostly focus on just the physical part and forget verbal abuse
I know a victim of verbal abuse who almost took her life
It’s important to watch our words because what one might see to be funny, another might see it to be hurtful

Yeah the season 2 just came out but I don’t like the fact that it wasn’t a continuation of the season 1.

People need to learn how to talk and behave.

I can’t even imagine what that girl went through.

This is why I always say that good parents are really needed in our world because they are the ones that can train children who have that kindness in them. The kind of children who have true feelings.

I listened to the music and I felt really sad for her. The trauma bullying leaves in a child's mind can not be measured.

Hello dearest fashionable dreemer. Happy Tuesday! It is tunes day, sweetie. I hope you are ready to feel our minds with those killer tunes of yours. It's not funny to be a victim of bully. Classy boys and girls in school view themselves as superior and do all things possible to make others bow to them. Bullying drives the victim into an unstable psychological state. It is something that must be aborted at all costs.

I passionately hate bullies. Many children have fallen victim to bullying, experiencing the worst physically, emotionally, and mentally. Some even resort to suicide because they can't bear it, and no one actually listens or helps them.

I remember a twelve-year-old kid who was bullied by his seniors at his boarding school. He was tormented to the point where the teachers turned a blind eye to his cries. He later revealed everything to his parents when he was taken home, but unfortunately, the boy died.

Bullies should never go unpunished; they need to feel the pain of being bullied themselves. I hope the rate at which children are bullied at school decreases. Imagine being a teenager, and all that goes through your mind is to make the life of your peers miserable. Bullies are not humans; they are monsters.
