Bold steps

Do you know one thing about fear? It doesn’t just prevent you from doing a lot of things it leaves a mark in your heart, the “I cannot do it” mentality sticks in and limits you from being who you truly are.

Like they say, fear is man’s biggest enemy. For a lot of people, the fear of failing is a limiting factor, some people can decide not to do certain things because of their fear of failing, they think in their heart that if they try it they’d fail and that would hurt more so what they simply do is to either leave it alone or forget about it.

When I talk about these people I refer to me and the battalion of people on this ship who would rather pass on doing things just because they are scared of failing.

To be scared of failing can be a good and also a bad thing as it motivates you to do your best so you don’t fail but when you decide to hinder yourself from doing certain things then it becomes a problem.

I’ve been in situations where I could have made a decision or taken a step but I was just too scared to take that bold step. I’ve been in situations where people could literally vouch that IB can do something, but I would still doubt my capabilities, cowardice much? You can say that.

I am learning to stop this bad attitude of mine and I am learning to seriously take the lyrics of the song The Fire by The Roots ft. John Legend to heart.

If you haven’t heard this wonderful song then you should. It is an inspirational song, one of bravery, determination, and perseverance. it’s a song that motivates its listeners and it’s also soothing to listen to.

This song was written and released in 2010 and to date, it hasn’t lost its touch.

The Fire is a big inspiration to me and to many others who find themselves constantly second-guessing themselves and shying away from challenges.
it is a song that explicitly talks about not giving up and chasing one’s dream.

I love how the songwriter started by agreeing that we all can be scared of taking giant steps and feeling lost is inevitable as a lot of people can relate to it and this makes the whole song more relatable to people.

I love the chorus of the song more than anything as it stirs something in me.

Oh, the fire, the fire
Oh (The fire)

Also The Fire is a big inspiration to me as it constantly reminds me never to shy away from challenges and never to give up, it reminds me that I have so much more to achieve than I can ever think of or imagine.

The Fire is a wonderful song that encourages people to believe in themselves and their abilities and for someone like me listening to such songs every now and then helps to keep me on my toes.

To everyone who in one way or the other has doubted their ability all in the name of being scared of failing I want to use this medium to encourage you to go for whatever you want, failure is part of life and a motivation to do better next time.

The Fire

If you feel like listening to a song that depicts courage or you need that extra boost, I recommend you listen to The Fire and you would be glad that you did.

I love the song, and I'm glad you're learning to take the bull by the horn, and take up challenges even with the fear, because it's ok to be afraid.
