Effect of Secular music on humanity and spirituality.
Good day family, I will say yes that listening to secular music has a huge effect on one's spirit, soul and body. Taking us back to when there wasn't a man made musical instrument the voice has been.
Every tribe, race and peoples has the belief in a supremacy of a Deity except for the atheist in which atheistism started just a few centuries ago. Every tribe, and peoples used their voices as the Major musical instrument before the invention of any musical instruments of any kind. They use the voice to make melodies and rhythms to invoke or a form of worship to the Deity at which they believe in.
Music has both positive and negative effects on one's spirit, soul and body. We are made to know by the great philosophers that a man is tripartite in nature, He has the body, soul and the spirit in which for a person to be a complete person all these must be in synchrony. The body is the tangible part of the human body, the body carries out the physical activities while the soul carries out the mental activities and the spirit, spirit. All of these are intertwined to make up a person. The soul is the center of intelligence; it is the mid-point between spirit and the Body.
The Negative effect of music.
The lyrics of every piece of music has a direct effect on the soul and when the soul is affected the body begins to act on the lyrics and the spirit. For example, those who listen to pop music, rap music, rock music, metal music, blues music, country music etc., understand situations and approach them differently.
Most Rappers who listen to 2Pac gradually turn to start behaving as thugs, Most Metal rock musicians with every sense of respect behave abnormally to me. Most of them died in their 30s , most died in their prime. Most Reggae music listeners want to model their lives towards Bob Marley and most of them are Marijuana smokers.
Positive effects of Music
Those who listen to songs with great moral lessons behave well and see life differently.
Mostly in Africa, the part of the world where I come from, every Deity is identical to his style of sound, like in the western part of my country Nigeria, the kind of sound you make before ogun is different from the one you make before shango. Each of the Deities has rules and repercussions should in case one goes contrary. The eastern part of Nigeria also, in fact each tribe and people has a peculiar sounds they make any time they appear before the Deity they worship, So with that most of the Africans believes that every piece of music has its source and inspirations from a deity. Musical instruments were crafted to suit the style of worship and Deity each peoples believe to be the Supreme Being.
Good music uplift one's spirit when down and broken, because Music travels from the body to the soul and to the spirit back to the soul and the body and actions are made. Music brings healing to the spirit soul and body.
Great post! Music touches the soul, shapes behavior, and connects us to culture and spirituality. Its power to heal and uplift is truly amazing!
Thank you so much
