THE ENDURING IMPACT OF MUSIC WITH DEPTH

Music is dynamic and it is important that way, because humans are also dynamic. But then, due to some reasons, some artists are no longer interested in making good music but they are more interested in making good money. Of course, as an artist, you definitely need money to keep you going in the industry but then, some of these artists have failed to see that music is a food for the soul, or maybe they are very much aware of this and they still choose to just fill the mind of their listeners with words that won’t do their souls any good.

Well, I don’t blame these artists completely, I blame we the listeners. If we don’t listen or patronize their songs, I believe they will do better with the kind of lyrics they dish out to their listeners. I mean, they can never see anything wrong with the lyrics of their songs if they keep topping the charts of most played songs, most listened songs and so on. That will even make them want to sing more trashy songs because they believe that people are not interested in what true music is again but rather, they are more interested in songs that will make them feel high or something.

One other major way that can encourage these artist to continue to give their best to the lyrics of their songs is the experiences they have gotten going through life. Most of the great artists that have beautiful and good lyrics, are artists that have had quite an experience in life. Because of these experiences, they most times find themselves always pouring their hearts into their music and this is evident in their choice of words. And because of this, people most times enjoy their songs more because the lyrics are one that they can relate a lot to.

If these experiences are the motivation behind the lyrics of their songs, you will see the evidence in their music. And I think it is because of this fact that most persons enjoy listening to some old artists more than these contemporary artists. Some of these artists, I think they do have the experiences to carve out a beautiful lyrics but then, they maybe have a faulty way they view life and this is evident in their song lyrics. Although, I believe music still has the feel today, what needs fixing is some kind of artists already in the industry.

Also, I believe that, some artists already in the industry are only there for the money so it is just almost impossible to get something brilliant, lyrics-wise from them. They excel in the industry only because they’ve been able to build their fan base and not really because they’ve really created great music. I mean, being an artist that write songs is not for everyone. We have to accept the fact that, even though we have a great singing voice, that doesn’t in any way mean we will be great song writers.

One other problem is the fact that, every artists today wants to be a song writer even without trying to learn or master the art. I know there are some great artists out there who have people write their songs for them and that makes them always deliver really nice and lovely songs. This is because, if someone else is writing the lyrics for you, they will hardly ever want to write trash for you, because they believe that they are being paid to deliver the best. They know the fact that, in music lyrics matters and the artist might reject it if they can’t relate with it.

But in a case where an artist is not a good songwriter but still chose to write their songs themselves, you will get to see that they can sing anything just for the fact that they composed the songs themselves. With this in mind, I’d love to encourage artists to know their place. Even as some are so fortunate to know how to both sing and write songs, some others only know how to sing, while others know how to create or compose really beautiful songs.

If artists get to know themselves, then this problem will be greatly addressed and the music world will continue to be a great place to get a good therapy. The lyrics of songs will continue to be rich and powerful.

Hi there, Hopey. Times have changed. Musicians no longer care about the impact of their songs on the audience, they only care about the monetary gains. They don't produce good music because they want good money. As you mentioned, I also blame the listeners. We listen to their songs, giving them more reasons to keep doing what they do- produce commercialized songs.

Let’s use Portable as a case study. Do you know how much he has made from his wack songs? A lot, my love. A lot!

In my opinion, we have gone too deep into the modern world, it is almost impossible to change things.

Yeah, the listeners are to be blame more because they are their backbones. As long as they have supporters, they will keep going and then they will see the others as their haters, hehe.

True, we have gone really far but that won’t stop us from trying and hoping.

Thanks for your contribution, love. ❤️

some artists are no longer interested in making good music but they are more interested in making good money.

This is what really caused the gap between the old school music and the present. When one's motive is self centered definitely you won't last long. I think is also a factor that limit the life span of most music today.

Thank you for sharing...

Gone are the days when people wrote songs that flowed from their soul, these ones that sing now, their songs I don't know where they get their inspiration from.

I don't think these artist care about the songs they put out there, all they care about is their fame and money.

Its left for us to stick to the kinds of songs we like.

Exactly! We are the ones who have the duty to choose the kind of songs we want to listen to.

Thanks for your input, dear. 🥰

There are many good songs out there, but there is no market for them. Sadly, the popular songs are the ones that don't really add value. If we the listeners decide that we want better, then the artists will be forced to provide better!

Exactly! It’s because of the support they get that makes them continue producing whatever for people to listen to. And I think humans get biased most times, when their favorite artists sings something that is not really nice, they always try to justify their music choices.

Thanks for your input, sir Bruno.

You have actually said it all. We aren't forced to listen to these songs we choose to listen to them out of our free will and in as much as we don't stop listening to them these artistes won't see the need to put much effort or even try to change their style of singing.

Most listeners are the ones giving these artists go ahead to keep producing songs with meaningless lyrics because of what's trending and just for entertainment. If not, they need to open up and vent their lack of interest with songs that are being produced today with no impacts. Artists, too wants to make money instantly, forgetting that songs crafted with impactful lyrics can leave a lasting legacy than just for an instant gratification.

That’s why they are called youth, we enjoy instant gratification more than lasting impacts.

Thanks for your beautiful input, mama. 🥰
