This is a cover of Iron Maiden's Wasted Years. They released this song in 1986 and it comes from thier 6th studio Album Somewhere in time. I've been playing it for atleast 20 years, and thought I'd record it for fun and upload it here.

Clearly I have no idea how to use the 3speak video upload function. This is the text I was meant to add with the post:
I had a wee blast on the guitar tonight and made a quick and short recording of Iron Maiden's Wasted Years on the acoustic. This song comes from their 1986 album, somewhere in time.
I've always enjoyed playing this song, and have done so for 20+ years I reckon, although its the first time I've ever recorded it. I grew up listening to and playing rock/metal, although I will often play my own versions of songs, like I do for this one.
I didnt want to bore you with a full version so just did the intro, first two verses and the chorus.
Having looked back at the video I need to work on not pulling as many faces when I'm playing ! Next time I'll just add a still photo with the music behind it instead !

Many thanks ! I've been playing acoustic like that for years and often wonder how boring it is to listen a whole song played like that all the way through, noting that I'm even getting bored playing it all the way through !!!
Hahaha, I always liked acoustic performances like this. Reminds me of improvised parties by the sea or in parks. I heard quite a few songs as a kid that way the first time and only years later in the original full version ... and many times I preferred the simplified version played by friends. 😃 Even when it gets repetitive with only one guitar playing, it gives me a nice meditative feeling, it doesn't get repetitive in a boring way.
