RE: Shakira, Shakira.

I am one of these types of people that tries to get a ticket as soon as they go on sale as well. In my city, people don't often buy a ticket to the show until the last minute.
For me, I want the show to not get cancelled due to low ticket sales, so I... I buy early. :D
But I realise that the people that are performing these shows are just normal people. They shit. They eat. They have their own anxieties.
They just created something people relate to and enjoy.
I just wish academics were mobbed in the same way musicians and sportspeople were.

Wouldn't that be a better world! It's been a while since I've been to a show like that on purpose. The last time was with Ellie as well, we went to Quito to see 3 bands. We arrived late, and it was cold and raining. But Elefante is still one of the bands that we love to hear together, or at least think of each other when a song comes on.
I think nostalgia plays quite the role in that. Shakira re-invented herself several times. Ellies 14 year old daughter is a fan, but of the newer songs, she doesn't even know the "old" ones. So, it's something they can enjoy together, and that is something valuable.
