Today's post will focus on the Hive streaming/video services, we have two major players in video content on Hive. 3Speak and Vimm, each bringing their own purpose to web3 for Hivians and beyond. From video upload to video streaming, there's a platform waiting for you! Let's dive in and find out some more about these awesome platforms and how they can help you.

OVERVIEW - Video Platforms

Video platforms provide another outlet for musicians to spread awareness of their sound and brand. Upload content to 3Speak to share with other communities like 'Open-Mic' or other Hive Music events/contests (we covered many in our previous post here). Not only can users upload videos, but Vimm allows users to stream live content whenever, wherever! So there are options for everyone to share their music far and wide!

3Speak

3Speak is one of the biggest Video upload services on Hive. The web3 Youtube. Allowing users the chance to share video content with the masses and create a Hive post at the same time. Users are able to comment directly via the 3Speak website to engage with content. Or videos can be uploaded and then encoded into a post on other Hive frontends. This allows users to focus their content on the niche communities that will further enhance their chances of being seen/found by users.

One of the benefits of uploading your content to 3Speak instead of a web2 alternative is that you retain the rights to your content, it's uploaded to the blockchain so can't be removed. This creates a censorship-resistant platform that users are looking for!

3Speak recently launched their own mobile app making it even easier for creators to get involved! More info

Vimm.tv

Vimm focuses on Live streaming, the perfect opportunity for Artists to host events and onboard more users. When creating your Livestream, Vimm will also make a Hive post which can be targeted at your chosen niche to further expand your reach. Vimm gives users the chance to engage and chat with their fans whilst streaming. Creating connections that can't be made through a simple post/video upload.

If you're utilising Vimm you may want to check out HiveLive, which will offer you the chance to connect a 'tipping service' to your streams. Much like many of the web2 alternatives, this allows users to tip directly to the stream and get a message shared with the community! It's always great to encourage user participation! Especially if you're rocking an awesome DJ set or Band performance through Vimm! (More info about HiveLive here)

SUMMARY

There are various options for music lovers to share and enjoy music content, whether, in recorded format or live streams, there's something for everyone on Hive! By utilising the Hive video platforms users are able to share engaging content that might be more likely to catch the attention of users.
