An Unexpected and Amazing Night Out

(Edited)

During treatment weeks we have a very strict routine. If I have to work, @manujune goes with her mom to the Blood Bank in the morning and we spend the rest of the day home just nursing her from the usual discomforts caused by the treatment (nausea, headaches). However, this week some positive things combined and we we're able to do something we had not done in a year.

Time flew and yesterday was exactly a year since we arrived to Caracas. Today it is a year since @manujune was diagnosed. Today we can say she is doing just fine. We have been very protective of her all these months, but as she shows signs of progress and independence, we have made small adjustments.

Last night, her mom wanted to surprise her taking her to a place where a local artist she has grown fond of was going to perform.
I did not have to teach, so I was all for it.

This all coincided with their cousin's visit last Sunday. He has a car and, despite the misty cold night, we ventured for two hours out at Radio Bar.

I had never been there, but I loved it!

The owners did an amazing job with the decoration. From the very entrance, everything speaks of retro and urban mix of good music.

The stage took us back to the cassette player days.

The tables' tops were covered with cassettes. Coincidentally, many of the cassettes in our table were English courses or audio magazines I used to listen to when I was learning the language.

The menus (of which we ordered nothing) look like vinil albums.

The prices were not bad, but we can't afford any of that these days. Besides, we were there just to allow @manujune to enjoy the performance of Sofia Castillo.

The artist and her band did not disappoint (even though she told us she was recovering from a respiratory infection).

They played jazz. She sang in Spanish, Portuguese and English. It was just incredible.

@manujune enjoyed a conversation with Sofia after their first set and the singer wanted us to stay, but we had to leave inmediately after. @manujune had to continue with her treatment today and we did not want her to go to bed late or be exposed out too long.

Thank goodness, it was a relaxing night. It did not rain, @manujune was super happy, we enjoyed great music and we shared as a family in celebration of a year of struggles and victories.

Your busy time for treatment is a beautiful part of it. But it is very good to take care of the body. I wish him good health to the great creator. Vomiting can be said to be an annoying disease. It is better not to have a quick solution. It was fun to go there and spend some time with beautiful mysterious songs. However, the weather was good, it was not raining. Also, your comfortable time at the anniversary celebration was full of joy with songs.

Thank you, @gretelarmfeg
It's been a slow.process, but we are so happy she can now do what healthy people can do, even during treatment. Of course, we don't want to overdo it, but it feels good not to have to be so watchful about her health

Healing is never a straight line, but every small step forward is a huge victory. It is a beautiful testament to her strength and all the love and care you’ve poured into her journey. ❤️
