Our community's weekly live music celebration reaches musicians and listeners globally on a virtual stage, upholding the classic pattern of an open mic event. At the end of each week, we enjoy a community concert, highlighting a Spotlight Artist.

Our song circle is a place of belonging for anyone who appreciates live music. Our creative space offers a chance to build real relationships worldwide between music fans and musicians of every style and any skill level. Every contributor can be proud of the fact we are co-creating a more harmonious world by sharing the joys of music.

For Hive Open Mic 184, we will explore the following theme: "Sabor." In English, this means "flavor," and it is also an expression of approval as in "tasty" excellence. This theme is chosen by our community's recent Spotlight Artist: @kococuatro. Everyone is encouraged to express and connect through: Sabor.

This week's Hive Open Mic theme is: “Sabor.” This is a pressure-free invitation, encouraging us to explore new territory together as artists, sharing common ground as a community. Musicians always have full freedom to bring whatever music feels inspired in the moment. Here's a timeline, for anyone wishing to look back, be present, or prepare future entries.

How To Play

1. Produce - Introduce your video by saying the words, “Hive Open Mic Week 184,” including your name. Perform a song.
2. Present - Post your video in the Hive Open Mic community. Include the tag #openmic.
3. Promote - Share your link in the comments section of Sunday's open mic invitation in order to ensure your entry is heard.
4. Prosper - Build relationships by engaging with fellow music lovers through uplifting comments.

[ES] Hola Hive Open Mic🎙

Hola, chicos y chicas. BoelterMc en la zona. ¿Cómo están? Eso espero. Para esta entrada decidí traer algo totalmente inesperado pero totalmente presente en la cultura brasileña, ¡el FUNK! Usando Falling Sample de Trevor Daniel y tambores de 150bpm he creado mi primer Hive Original Funk. Recuerda que soy rapero y raramente hago funk. Mi idea es traer un poco más de la cultura carioca, la cultura de Río de Janeiro, donde vivo y donde tenemos un montón de bailes funk. Aquí este tipo de ritmo y melodía resuena por todas las favelas y los condominios de lujo, desde las peores a las mejores fiestas, a todo el mundo le gusta el funk. Anita, en particular, es la responsable de haber popularizado el género en todo el mundo en los últimos años. Pero en Brasil tenemos muchísimos artistas funk increíbles. Espero que disfruten de mi creatividad en el universo Hive. Desafío a cualquiera que aún no haya creado su propia presentación a que haga una portada con su interpretación de los sonidos que yo hice originalmente para vosotros. ¡Éxito a todos! ¡Estoy escuchando sus hermosas canciones! ¡Salud!

[EN] Hello Hive Open Mic🎙

Hello, boys and girls. BoelterMc in the area. How are you? I hope so! In this entry I decided to bring something totally unexpected but totally present in Brazilian culture, FUNK! Using Trevor Daniel's Falling Sample and 150bpm drums I created my first Original Hive Funk. Remember that I'm a rapper and rarely make funk. My idea is to bring a bit more of the carioca culture, the culture of Rio de Janeiro, where I live and where we have a lot of funk dances. Here this kind of beat and melody echoes through all the favelas and high-end condominiums, from the worst to the best parties, everyone loves funk. Anita in particular is responsible for popularizing the genre around the globe in recent years. But in Brazil, we have many, many incredible funk artists. I hope you enjoy my creativity around the Hive universe. I challenge anyone who hasn't yet created their own presentation to make a cover with their interpretation of the sounds I originally made for you. Success to all! Con la temática de esta semana que es: SABOR. La gaita está presente en cada sabor que degustamos o sentimos al bailar en las fiestas Decembrinas. Incluso se hace notar con intensidad en las calles, comercios y mercados alusivos. Hasta cuando vas a comprar a sobreprecio el ultimo pabilo de la quincallería (porque falto hilo para amarrar las hallacas) o eres el responsable de buscar el pan de jamón a la panadería (aguantando la tentación de meterle diente). Son muchos recuerdos y vivencias que la gaita nos hace revivir cada año, cada navidad... ¡Cada alegría de estar con vida!🌹💖

With this week's theme: FLAVOR. The bagpipe is present in every flavor we taste or feel when dancing at the December holidays. It is even noticed intensely in the streets, shops and markets alluding to it. Even when you are going to buy the last wick from the hardware store at a premium (because there is no thread to tie the hallacas) or you are responsible for looking for the ham bread from the bakery (withstanding the temptation to put your teeth into it). There are many memories and experiences that the bagpipes make us relive every year, every Christmas... Every joy of being alive!🌹💖
