Global harmony is our mission. World peace is our vision. Our community's weekly live music celebration reaches musicians and listeners globally on a virtual stage, upholding the classic pattern of an open mic event. At the end of each week, we enjoy a community concert, highlighting a Spotlight Artist.

Our song circle is a place of belonging for anyone who appreciates live music. Our creative space offers a chance to build real relationships worldwide between music fans and musicians of every style and any skill level. Every contributor can be proud of the fact we are co-creating a more harmonious world by sharing the joys of music.

For the 155th week of Hive Open Mic, we will explore the following theme: "DNA." This theme is chosen by our community's recent Spotlight Artist: @stickupboys. Everyone is encouraged to express and connect through: DNA.

This week's Hive Open Mic theme is: “DNA.” This is a pressure-free invitation, encouraging us to explore new territory together as artists, sharing common ground as a community. Musicians always have full freedom to bring whatever music feels inspired in the moment. Here's a timeline, for anyone wishing to look back, be present, or prepare future entries.

How To Play

1. Produce - Introduce your video by saying the words, “Hive Open Mic Week 155,” including your name. Perform a song.
2. Present - Post your video in the Hive Open Mic community. Include the tag #openmic.
3. Promote - Share your link in the comments section of Sunday's open mic invitation in order to ensure your entry is heard.
4. Prosper - Build relationships by engaging with fellow music lovers through uplifting comments.

Show support by engaging with the musicians. The greatest gift we can give to an artist is our attention. For this reason, we humbly ask that everyone offer some friendly words. Reward musicians by offering applause as if we're in a pub, a coffee shop, or concert hall. Our comments might be the vital voice that gives a musician the wings to fly, or the gills to dive deep!

For this theme I chose Eric Clapton's song "My Father's Eyes" - As Eric Clapton said about it: "In [the song] I tried to describe the parallel between looking in the eyes of my son, and the eyes of the father that I never met, through the chain of our blood." It sounds like the perfect choice for the theme DNA!

Hello my dear Hive Open Mic community. We arrive at week 155 with a quite original theme proposed by our recent Spotlight Artists @stickupboys from the United Kingdom, it is about DNA (ADN in Spanish), that protein, whose full name is deoxyribonucleic acid, is present in all cells and It is in charge of carrying our genetic memory from generation to generation.

Just as our genetic memory regarding our physical traits is found in the DNA and that is why we are always told that we resemble one relative or another, even relatives who may have died before we were born, we have in our genetic memory the need to interact and have friends. This helps us to be happy. And the song that I bring today addresses this theme: how having friends and a positive attitude towards life makes us happy.

¡Un saludo a esta unida familia musical! Esta es mi participación de la presente semana. El DNA o ADN desempeña un papel primordial en el crecimiento y vitalidad del ser humano. Me enfocare en estos últimos aspectos... Crecemos con una facilidad, que en ante un abrir y cerrar de ojos de nuestros padres.️🙃 Vamos pasando por la infancia, niñez, adolescencia y adultez… Listos para aventurarnos a direccionar nuestra vida y ser responsables de ella.✌️ Es allí, donde ha llegado el momento agridulce de todo progenitor. Soltar y confiar de que hicieron lo mejor posible su noble labor.❤️

Shout out to this tight-knit musical family! This is my participation this week. DNA or DNA plays a key role in the growth and vitality of the human being. I will focus on these last aspects... We grow easily, in the blink of an eye of our parents.️🙃 We are going through childhood, childhood, adolescence and adulthood...
