Our community's weekly live music celebration reaches musicians and listeners globally on a virtual stage, upholding the classic pattern of an open mic event. At the end of each week, we enjoy a community concert, highlighting a Spotlight Artist.

Our song circle is a place of belonging for anyone who appreciates live music. Our creative space offers a chance to build real relationships worldwide between music fans and musicians of every style and any skill level. Every contributor can be proud of the fact we are co-creating a more harmonious world by sharing the joys of music.

For the 154th week of Hive Open Mic, we will explore the following theme: "Comedia Musical." In English, this means: "Musical Comedy." This theme is chosen by our community's recent Spotlight Artist: @nancybmp. Everyone is encouraged to express and connect through: Comedia Musical.

This week's Hive Open Mic theme is: “Comedia Musical.” This is a pressure-free invitation, encouraging us to explore new territory together as artists, sharing common ground as a community. Musicians always have full freedom to bring whatever music feels inspired in the moment. Here's a timeline, for anyone wishing to look back, be present, or prepare future entries.

How To Play

1. Produce - Introduce your video by saying the words, “Hive Open Mic Week [1],” including your name. Perform a song.
2. Present - Post your video in the Hive Open Mic community. Include the tag #openmic.
3. Promote - Share your link in the comments section of Sunday's open mic invitation in order to ensure your entry is heard.
4. Prosper - Build relationships by engaging with fellow music lovers through uplifting comments.

Show support by engaging with the musicians. The greatest gift we can give to an artist is our attention. For this reason, we humbly ask that everyone offer some friendly words. Amiga @nancybmp, cuando dices "géneros musicales tan diversos y con su propio sello característico" mencionas una de las grandes fortalezas de Hive Open Mic: el mantenerse abierto a todos los géneros musicales. Dear riend @nancybmp, when you say "so diverse and distinctive musical genres" you mention one of Hive Open Mic's great strengths: staying open to all musical genres. This is synonymous with an almost infinite melodic and rhythmic richness and allows a continuous process of reinforcement of learning that never ends in music. For my part, I have prepared to share with you "my own musical comedy" and, at the same time, a surprise, since it is the first time that I play my accordion as an accompanying part of a song where not only other instruments (guitar, drum, cymbal) but also voices. We try to add a touch of humor and we hope that the result is to your liking.

For my part I bring you an original song that mixes music with denunciation, humor and irony. It is about "Venezuela Siglo XXI", a song that I composed during some very strong years for our country, years in which "everybody went hungry even", cooking gas stopped being distributed. In rural areas we make ends meet by cutting branches and using firewood for cooking. In the urban environment the situation was more difficult. They had to buy industrialized coal, which is very expensive, or resort to the use of electric stoves, the latter solution being quite limiting due to the frequent and long blackouts.

Esta es mi participación... ¿Qué tiene de cómico o gracioso las baladas pop? Lo que me parece divertido es que a los 14 años no tenía experiencias en rupturas amorosas, más cantaba a todo pulmón como si fuera mi historia de corazones rotos.
Me parece muy cómico, el dramatismo que le colocaba, si hubiese estado una cámara escondida en mi habitación mientras improvisaba la canción, hubiera sido tendencia en las redes sociales. ¡Jajaja!

This is my participation... What is funny or funny about pop ballads? What I find funny is that at 14 years old I had no experiences in love breakups, more I sang at the top of my lungs as if it were my story of broken hearts.
It seems very funny to me, the drama that I put on it, if a camera had been hidden in my room while I was improvising the song, it would have been a trend on social networks. Ha ha ha!

Yo me enfocare en lo que considero la vivencia universal para la humanidad. Porque la ha experimentado desde los más niños hasta los más ancianos. En el proceso aflora el temperamento, se dice desde palabras mágicas que son casi efectivas para aliviar el dolor generado por un golpe en el dedo y que por lo general son de término grosero. Y como olvidarse de la tonalidad morada que es el perfecto sello de este gracioso momento (Para quien lo vio tan cerca y de reojo) ¡jajaja!😆😝😜
