Our community's weekly live music celebration reaches musicians and listeners globally on a virtual stage, upholding the classic pattern of an open mic event. At the end of each week, we enjoy a community concert, highlighting a Spotlight Artist.

Our song circle is a place of belonging for anyone who appreciates live music. Our creative space offers a chance to build real relationships worldwide between music fans and musicians of every style and any skill level. Every contributor can be proud of the fact we are co-creating a more harmonious world by sharing the joys of music.

For the 144th week of Hive Open Mic, we will explore the following theme: "Melodic Dose." This theme is chosen by our community's recent Spotlight Artist: @lyon-89. Everyone is encouraged to express and connect through: Melodic Dose.

This week's Hive Open Mic theme is: “Melodic Dose.” This is a pressure-free invitation, encouraging us to explore new territory together as artists, sharing common ground as a community. Musicians always have full freedom to bring whatever music feels inspired in the moment. Here's a timeline, for anyone wishing to look back, be present, or prepare future entries.

How To Play

1. Produce - Introduce your video by saying the words, “Hive Open Mic Week [1],” including your name. Perform a song.
2. Present - Post your video in the Hive Open Mic community. Include the tag #openmic.
3. Promote - Share your link in the comments section of Sunday's open mic invitation in order to ensure your entry is heard.
4. Prosper - Build relationships by engaging with fellow music lovers through uplifting comments.

Show support by engaging with the musicians. The greatest gift we can give to an artist is our attention. For this reason, we humbly ask that everyone offer some friendly words. Reward musicians by offering applause as if we're in a pub, a coffee shop, or concert hall. Our comments might be the vital voice that gives a musician the wings to fly, or the gills to dive deep!

Lovely! For this theme I tried to choose a song that is beautiful and emotional just because of the melody and the way it is sung, even if it doesn't have a driving rhythm or perhaps the listener doesn't understand all the lyrics... To do this, I chose a stunning, simple, melodic poetic love song by Simon and Garfunkel called "For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her"!

This week, at the suggestion of our recent Spotlight Artist @lyon-89, we are joined by the theme "Melodic Dose", when I saw this topic I connected in my memory with a song whose melodic line is very beautiful, in addition to being given to be known in the prodigious voice of Diana Ross, actress and singer who, in 1993, entered the Guinness Book of Records as the most successful female artist of all the times.

Una interpretación muy llena de color como siempre, que alegría verlos siempre compartir música con tanto entusiasmo, los felicito, una recomendación, como no tienen una manera de producir el video ni trabajr audios internos con un software mas que un teléfono, les recomiendo posicionar la percusión un poco mas atrás para que las cuerdas y la voz tengan mas presencia y obviamente el sonido se aprecie un poco mas, asi como hacen las bandas la mayoría de las veces cuando tocan en vivo, ya que por ley es una estructura que se cumple por la misma razón. Inténtelo alguna vez, un poco más atrás el señor con el tambor y la guitarra y voz un poco mas adelante, ya que la percusión cumple un papel de bombo muy fuerte que tiende a opacar un poco el resto, el resto ya lo saben, hacen un trabajo muy bonito ❤🌟🌼

Our Spotlight Artist @lyon-89 proposes for this week 144 the theme "Melodic Dose", as if it were a medicine... and I totally agree with that assessment. Music heals, cheers, excites... music is magic, music is love. Music is something so beautiful that this mysterious process in which an artist creates a melody that comes out of his soul, then both the performer and the listener feel a special connection, because the music goes from heart to heart.

I have fed myself musically taking a few doses of you and here I bring you mine: A song by Edgar Alexander, the well-remembered and extremely talented Venezuelan singer-songwriter whose melodies were characterized by being very beautiful. I'm sure you'll like this song "Amor Es" (Love is) , both the lyrics and the music.

Greetings, Hive Open Mic community, another week of wonderful musical encounters, this time with "Melodic Dose" the theme proposed by our Spotlight Artist @lyon-89. Therefore, together with my friends we bring you a dose of very happy music, it is "Carmen, the one who was 16 years old". Originally from the group "Los Antaños del Stadium" (The Old Men Of The Stadium) in the genre known in these parts as "Música Cañonera". It was heard and interpreted a lot in old Caracas, and you will see in the video the members of the group Los Antaños from the Stadium with the clothing typical of the area and the time: straw hat, and elastic instead of straps to hold the pants .

We think this melodic dose will cure any nostalgia.

Hello, my dear Hive Open Mic community, in this week 144 in which the theme that brings us together is "Melodic Dose" chosen by our Spotlight Artist @lyon-89, I want to participate with an original song: "Today My Life". I prepared it to participate with it in week 143 of "La Voz de la Esperanza" (Hope Voice) , but the virus caught me and it was impossible for me to record. However, I realized that it fits the theme of this week as well since it has a melody with its variations that I hope you like.
My niece Fabiola was in charge of making the recording and soon a friend will be accompanying me with her guitar. but in the meantime, I will continue to sing a cappella

Me complazco en presentarles un COVER de una canción icónica en español. De un cantante mexicano y de gran trayectoria (desde temprana edad). Que considero que es una de las voces más melodiosas de la balada romántica. A pesar de la melancólica historia que refleja esta canción, no deja de ser hermosa y de gran impacto para todo buen oyente.🎶😉👍

I am pleased to present you a COVER of an iconic song in Spanish. From a Mexican singer with a great career (from an early age). Which I consider to be one of the most melodious voices in the romantic ballad. Despite the melancholic story that this song reflects, it is still beautiful and of great impact for all good listeners.🎶😉👍

¡Hola amigos! No importa la edad que tenga... esta canción despierta en mi tanta valentía. Es como si trasmite el mensaje de que todo lo puedo lograr, a pesar de los tiempos de incertidumbre y a pesar del poco apoyo que pueda percibir a mí alrededor. Saca a la artmedina Guerrera que me asombra y que me encanta ser. Le da un toque melodioso a los retos que he de superar.

El disfrutar y valorarnos por ser seres únicos e irrepetibles.
