Fangirl Mode: On | Attending My First Ever Event as an NCTzen

To The World! 💚

Hello, Hive! :)

It's been a very anxious week for me as I will embark on a new semester next week. But for today's blog, I will be sharing my experience on my first-ever event as an NCTzen— I attended NCT NATION in Cinemas last December 10, 2023!

As a fan for three years, I am happy that I could see the development of my fangirling life– from only watching their content on YouTube, to being able to buy their albums and attend an event that lets me experience and see what it is like to watch them perform on stage. When I learned about the news, I knew I needed to be able to see that. I made it my goal to be able to save money for the ticket.

Fast forward to when the tickets were on sale, I immediately looked for where I should watch. However, since it was my first time being in these events, I had worries about how I wouldn't be able to enjoy it since I would not know someone there. Luckily, I have a friend who also enjoys K-pop a lot and is a fan of Enhypen so I figured she would come and she gladly accepted my offer. We decided to watch at the SM City Cebu because it is the most accessible mall for us. The tickets cost 400 pesos and I purchased two tickets online so I paid about 820 pesos plus the fee.

When it was nearing the date I became so excited and worried at the same time because I did not expect my schoolwork to pile up on me. I had to do multiple tasks so that I could make December 10 my free day. It was a Sunday after all. But despite all the efforts, I still ended up having a shoot on that day. I told my groupmates about it and we agreed to let me finish my part first so that I could catch up with the showing. I was super thankful to them for understanding and promised I would come back after.

The scheduled time was 3:00 PM and I arrived at SM at 2:30. I was already panicking because I hadn't got the tickets yet and I also had to change clothes. My friend also did not arrive yet so I spent the 30 mins doing what I needed to do before the showing.

My friend and I met at the entrance of the cinema and went in together. I could see many fans interacting with one another. I wanted to interact and talk with them too and my friend encouraged me to do so but I was too shy and nervous to talk to other people so we just waited for the time.

While waiting, we took photos together. There was a place where fans sell photo cards and other stuff so we went there to check it out. I ended up buying a fan kit which consisted of a banner, a Polaroid photo, and a pin and several things.

I was also in awe when I saw many fans in their concert outfits while holding their neobongs (NCT light sticks) and sporting very beautiful smiles. It felt nice to be surrounded by my co-nctzens for the first time and I made a pact that it will surely not be the last time!

The Unforgettable Experience

The feeling of time fleeting and not being able to recognize that you are experiencing reality was all I could feel when I watched the show. No words can ever describe the amount of happiness and comfort I felt when I saw the people who brought me so much happiness performing on a big screen. Other people might not understand and say I am overreacting but it was all I could feel.

When the show started, I didn't think twice and sang my heart out to every song that played, screamed my heart out at every moment when I felt overwhelmed, and cried real tears when I realized how big their part is in my life. I was moved by a part wherein they showed an animation of how their music brought happiness to a girl and how it affected her life so much. It made my heart move and I couldn't stop myself and cry because that was exactly what they did to me when I was at my lowest. Their music brought melody and their presence brought comfort within the times when I felt like I had no one.

Like how I found comfort in reading stories when I was young, I found the same comfort in their music when everything was draining me.

I am also blessed enough to have my best friend there with me to be able to capture those very important moments for me as I was too focused on the show and hadn't thought of even taking photos or videos.

The show lasted for almost 2 hours but it felt so quick that I couldn't even believe it ended already. 😭

And if someone asks me if it was worth it? Well, it surely was!

We went out of the cinema and took photos. We also went window shopping and went to Robinson's Galleria to meet with my classmates for dinner.

That day will always be one of my favorite moments and it will surely stay as one until I can attend their concert live. Let's manifest it together! 💚
