More metal music albums to present
Hello to everyone, after a long time since I last made my previous post I'm posting a handful of new vinyl records that I've received since quite some time now. It's already been over a year being absent from active posting and I've missed the rewards from posting. Anyhow, let's start with the presentation.
First item is from the band Rotting Christ and the following 7'' shape vinyl that has been released last year in a limited box containing three (including this) 7'' shape vinyls but also sold separately and so I got just this one.
a total amount of 500 copies has been made, 300 for the boxset and 200 for the single release
There's one song on each side
A Sorrowful Farewell
B Among Two Storms
and belong to the album A Dead Poem released in 1997. They're songs that take me back to the year that the album came out and I was 16 years old. It's the middle era in their discography, it's not about how much hardcore it is, but how much food for thought it has offered and I very much appreciate that.
Next album is from the band Lustre. I haven't kept close contact with this artist (I think it's an one man band). I just listened to one track and I was enchanted and then I read that it had been out as a single and then I read that a vinyl was out that contained it along with another track which I hadn't listened to at all. I searched about the label that had released it and to my surprise I found it available to order it in a big store here and so I ordered it and now I have it. This release contains the
acclaimed singles “The First Snow” and “Reverence” compiled on a beautifully crafted vinyl edition. The former song has, since its digital debut in 2018, enchanted audiences worldwide with its ethereal soundscape. “Reverence” is a twenty-minute-long journey through vibrant melancholia, notably marked by the haunting guest vocals of J.J. from Harakiri for the Sky. This exclusive release features captivating cover art by Joan Llopis Doménech.
The track that I had listened to and captivated my interest is Reverence
Moving on to the next album is by the band Insomnium and their album Winter's Gate. The shown vinyl is a reissue from early last year while the album has been originally released in 2016. This album has been made to be just one track and is split into its tracks for practical reasons for the physical formats rather than anything else. I loved to have it on vinyl and I was happy to see getting reissued and happily ordered it.
I do have favourite parts in this song such as part 3 and part 6.
The next album is from Iced Earth and their album Horror Show. Same story, it's a reissue from last year and the original release year is 2001. I remember this album when it was originally released and I also got it back then but sold it some years later. This is the album that I left this band.
Since then that Iced Earth were in their prime a lot has happened and it's sad that the heart and soul Jon Schaffer went on to spoil his reputation. But I guess we all know that a man has to do what he has to do.
The Phantom Opera Ghost track from this album is the one I can say it's my most favourite and I think that from when I originally listened to this album.
Last EP to present on vinyl is from the greek doom metal band Shattered Hope under the title Memoir.
This was too released last year, it contains three tracks, two new ones and the third being a cover by another greek band called Διάφανα Κρίνα = Transparent Lillies and were of Alternative Rock/Goth Rock ilk. Without wanting to take it far about the Lillies, I'll just say that it has meant a lot to many people, the frontman of those Lillies - Thanos Anestopoulos, having been singer, composer and lyricist and having passed away due to cancer in 2016.
And that is all, kind regards for dropping by and let's see when the next post comes in.
