Detalles musicales || Musical details [ESP-ING]

La fotografía ha potenciado mi carácter detallista, eso ha sido de mucho provecho a nivel personal y artístico. Buscar algo distinto en lugares donde, quizás, la mayoría de personas no vean nada especial es aprender a mirar para encontrar. En muchas ocasiones nos dejamos llevar por la masa y se nos acorta la visión y dejamos de buscar y, evidentemente, no encontramos. Crear nuevas imágenes, incluso a lo que usualmente se tiende hacer, necesitamos concentrarnos en esa acción y tenerla presente durante la sesión para darles su espacio y captar adecuadamente.

Photography has enhanced my detail-oriented character, which has been very useful on a personal and artistic level. To look for something different in places where, perhaps, most people do not see anything special is to learn to look to find. In many occasions we get carried away by the mass and our vision is shortened and we stop looking and, evidently, we don't find. To create new images, even what we usually tend to do, we need to concentrate on that action and keep it in mind during the session to give them their space and capture them properly.

Tuve la oportunidad de fotografiar un concierto musical nuevamente en la Sala del Grillo en la ciudad de Duitama-Colombia. Esta vez quince hacer algo distinto, algo para mí, un pequeño experimento fuera de la documentación. Me propuse centrarme en algunos detalles, cerrando mi campo visual me puse a buscar a ver qué lograba. Usé un lente 250 mm, aspecto que me complicó un poco las cosas por la iluminación y la velocidad de obturación; a pesar de ello me dispuse a buscar oportunidades a través del lente para crear fotografías distintas.

I had the opportunity to photograph a musical concert again at the Sala del Grillo in the city of Duitama-Colombia. This time I wanted to do something different, something for me, a little experiment outside of documentation. I decided to focus on some details, closing my field of vision I started looking to see what I could achieve. I used a 250 mm lens, an aspect that complicated things a bit because of the lighting and the shutter speed; in spite of this I set out to look for opportunities through the lens to create different photographs.

Muchas veces en la incomodidad surgen cosas interesantes, no poder desplazarme para buscar ángulos distintos, se hace bastante complejo, el espacio es bastante reducido y me toca estar sentado entre el público y desde allí hacer lo mejor que puedo para registrar la actividad. Me agrada la música, tengo mi propio proyecto musical, y enlazar la música con la fotografía me parece una experiencia muy reconfortante. Al conocer el tema de la música ya tenía una idea de lo que podía buscar dentro del escenario, aunque siempre está la incertidumbre de no saber que encontrarse.

Many times in the discomfort interesting things arise, not being able to move to look for different angles, it becomes quite complex, the space is quite small and I have to sit in the audience and from there do the best I can to record the activity. I like music, I have my own musical project, and linking music with photography seems to me a very comforting experience. Knowing the subject of music I already had an idea of what I could look for on stage, although there is always the uncertainty of not knowing what to expect.

Caminando vía al teatro meditaba en todo ello, pero es impresionante como la mente te arrastra a la costumbre de lo que siempre haces cuando intentas salirte de tu mismo cuadro y tratar de cambiar el chip. Tener presente lo que queremos hacer y llegar a tener, definitivamente, debemos tener plena atención a lo que realmente queremos tener. El desafío era mirar todo el espacio e irlo reduciendo poco a poco hasta conseguir esos detalles que motivarán fotografiar, tomando en cuenta la textura, profundidad, iluminación, reflejos, entre otros aspectos.

Walking to the theater I was meditating on all this, but it is impressive how the mind drags you into the habit of what you always do when you try to get out of your own frame and try to change the chip. Keep in mind what we want to do and get to have, definitely, we must have full attention to what we really want to have. The challenge was to look at the whole space and narrow it down little by little until we get those details that will motivate us to photograph, taking into account texture, depth, lighting, reflections, among other aspects.

Me agradó el resultado, claro, se puede mejorar mucho, la idea es entrenar el ojo y fortalecerlo con nuevos ejercicios y otros experimentos. El objetivo es desarrollar la capacidad de crear nuevas fotos, producir imágenes distintas a lo que acostumbramos y encontrar imágenes creativas que se esconden en los detalles.

The idea is to train the eye and strengthen it with new exercises and other experiments. The goal is to develop the ability to create new photos, to produce images different from what we are used to and to find creative images hidden in the details.
