When I'm sad I'm inspired at writing sad lyrics

I'm sad. I often am for long periods. And then sometimes I just fall into a deeper state of sadness. In those moments, if I put my headphones on and listen to the right music, lyrics for new songs just come out of my mind non-stop. I'm able to write 2-3-4 songs one after another in the span of a couple hours.

I'm working on a new music project in the darkwave genre, with romantic Victorian goth elements, both aesthetically and lyrically. So this state of sadness is perfect to write this kind of songs.

The fact that English is not my mother tongue makes me think than often my lyrics are not so deep, even banal. Let me know if you think so, I'll try to learn how to write in a more poetic way.

The songs I'm going to write will be slow and ethereal so they call for short lyrics with lots of vocalizations. I've already written 8 lyrics in this style. I hope you will listen to these soon.
