Thirst of Power is the 6th song from my album Blinded In Chains.

It's the direct continuation of Corruption and Infection and it keeps talking about greed and power that corrupt the human mind, leading most of the people to behave badly towards others.
Exploitation of the weak - accumulation of useless wealth - resources limitation that creates poverty - and so on, in a path of losing humanity and empathy, where they love their bank account more than the people around them, including relatives and friends.

Thirst of Power is a cyberpunk-metal style remake of a song from my previous metal band Scyther. The original song is called Dreams of power and glory and it's about the same topic.

I've kept the same guitar riff and built all the electronic parts around it. I personally like the drop at 2.31 so much and it's one of my favourite song to play live. It's also the most metal one I have so far, perfect to trigger some headbanging in the audience 🤘

It's also my manifesto to all those metal gatekeepers that still feel offended if you put some electronic contamination into metal. You know, in this song the only "traditional" instrument is guitar. Every other instrument is a synth or a digital drum machine (except for the voice obviously).

Fun fact: I was working on this song with a cyberpunk music producer called Dystox. He's from Switzerland so neither of us are native English speakers. In Italian we use the expression "Sete di potere" and if we translate it word by word without thinking, it comes out as "Thirst of power". Too bad one day I had a doubt and translated it online... it's thirst FOR power! HOLY SHIIIIIT 😂😂😂
At this point I had already recorded my voice parts, all the video snippets and the song was already scheduled to be released on streaming! 😫
I asked Dystox and he told me he didn't know that either. So I know Thirst of power is not grammatically right, sorry 😅 Nevermind and enjoy the song, please ahah
