Harbiter diary - August 12, 2025
Well, 23 days after the release, WORK SLEEP REPEAT got inly 100 streams. Proof that all the work I've done 'til now to promote my music is not going into giving me more streams. Not yet.
I know it's a long and tough way but after 1 and a half year of making music and content consistenly, I thought I'd get much more.
I think I DESERVE much more.
I think I'm into the infamous ALGORITHMIC JAIL: when the algo doesn't know who to show my content to, despite all the tags, despite following and interacting with similar pages, despite using the same aesthetic and terminology for over a year...
I'm not giving up, but I'm wasting a lot of time and energy because of this. I must find a solution.

Ne ho visti e continuo a vedere davvero tanti di video e post che ti spiegano i "segreti" di come avere successo sui social. Il vero segreto è che è una lotteria e tu puoi solo diventare bravo a grattare più biglietti possibili. Però a volte, a forza di grattare, ti vengono i crampi

STOPIf we can build up the music community on Hive then this will reward artists even better. The other platforms give you very little even if you put in the work on promotion. It's just a small audience here for now.

What comforts me is the fact that I know I'm putting the effort on places that give value to music and artistic expression, and this puts me in front of who's still convinced that Spotify and co. are a sustainable way.
Being here and building my community on Hive puts me way ahead of many others who don't understand the importance of direct relationships

Unfortunately not. Probably I should upgrade my Distrokid subscription to access that, but that's not worth it for me now
It indicated to me 18 plays when I checked on my client today. So, hopefully, that's an accurate measure for you. 18 is better than zero, but I know how disenfranchised it can feel to not have recognition of one's creative output.
