Dark Malta festival - day 1

Good morning Hiveans lovers of the alternative world. This is the first post here, I discovered this community thanks to a comment from @slobberchops and hope to be able to post here regularly from now on.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not uploading videos on Youtube about this and for how Hive is made, I'm not uploading them on 3speak yet just to have it shared here, because I don't want to get a double post about the same topic on the same day and split upvotes. Because my followers will vote the video and then not consider this post where the video will be featured too, you know.
I would like to post this directly through 3speak, but its interface is harder to use than Peakd. All this to say than I'm uploading a recap video of the exhibitions in the future.

I begin by telling you about my experience at the Dark Malta festival, a three-day music event held at the Gianpula Village location in Malta. Here is the line up for the first day

Unfortunately, I was not able to catch an earlier departing flight, so I landed on the island at 7 PM and after picking up my rental car and checking in at my airbnb, I was able to arrive at the festival at 9 PM.

At that time Selofan were on the stage, a Greek duo playing post-punk goth music with obvious references to early 80s bands, particularly Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Clan of Xymox are next, a historic band from the post-punk scene. They gave us a dreamy performance that took me back to the first goth nights I attended. I closed my eyes and let myself go to the sweet and sinuous dance that this kind of music generates in me.

And finally, the headliners: Diary of Dreams

I found out about Diary of Dreams just a couple days before going to Malta and oh boy!
I don't really know how to talk about them. They do a sort of mix between slow aggressive electronic music with orchestral parts and a strong gothic metal feeling. I can really feel the cold craving into me when I listen to them. I liked it a lot when I first listened to their 2017 album Melancholin but watching them performing live has been... BLASTING!

Total wall of sound and a perfect mix between symphonic and electro-metal. Hope to see them again soon.

I got back at the airbnb at 2 AM and I was quite tired from the trip and everything, you can see it in my eyes 😅 Also it's been my first time driving a car left-handed. It's been really challenging and energy draining, but I made it!

See you soon for part 2 ☠️

Seems you're having an awesome time at Dark Malta!

Thanks for sharing the 3 videos. I know Clan of Xymox but the other 2 bands are new to me. They all give an authentic Goth vibe.

Enjoy the rest of the festival!

Interesting songs and event. Selofan reminded me of Marina and Diamonds Froot, as well as Depeche Mode. the chord progression changes are really enjoyable. I like these Dark Themes and the last one was powerful at the same time.
