This could be the beginning because I don't have such a big collection of instruments at home. Part of this collection has been by inheritance, because they have been bought for me and because I have also been able to do it myself. This is the history of my instruments.

Puede ser el inicio porque no es una colección tan grande la que tengo de instrumentos en casa. Parte de esta colección ha sido por herencia, porque me lo han comprado y porque también he podido hacerlo yo mismo. Esta es la historia de mis instrumentos.

I want to start with the instrument that is most present at home, which is the guitar.

Quiero empezar por el instrumento que más hace presencia en casa, que es la guitarra.

This first guitar that I'm showing is the oldest one in the collection, dating from about 1985, a guitar made in Brazil by di Giorgio. This guitar was a gift from my grandfather when he made a trip to Brazil and gave the guitar to my mother so that she could learn.

This guitar has survived and has been very well cared for, even though years later my father started to study with it, and later I learned with this guitar. It is a classical Spanish type guitar and the only thing that has clearly been changed are the strings, it is a guitar that I will take very good care of, and it will be present all my life.

Esta primera guitarra que estoy mostrando es la más antigua que hay en la colección, data más o menos de 1985, una guitarra hecha en Brasil de marca di Giorgio. Esta guitarra fue un regalo de mi abuelo cuando hizo un viaje a este dicho país y le regaló la guitarra a mi mamá para que aprendiera.

Esta guitarra ha sobrevivido y ha sido muy muy bien cuidada, a pesar de qué años después mi padre empezó a estudiar con ella y posteriormente aprendí yo con esta guitarra. Es una guitarra tipo española clásica y lo único que se le ha cambiado claramente son las cuerdas, es una guitarra que cuidaré muchísimo y estará presente toda mi vida.

The second one is an electro-acoustic guitar which, although it is not a well-known brand, has a very nice sound with metal strings which makes it sound very modern.

This guitar was given to me by my father some time after he left home. For him, this guitar was going to be his therapy, but he decided to give it to me because at that time he saw that I had a lot of potential to learn to play it. In fact this guitar is the one I use the most when I want to learn or play, do some covers, in fact here in Hive you have seen it.

La segunda es una guitarra electroacústica que aunque no es de una marca reconocida, tiene un sonido muy agradable con cuerdas metálicas que hace que el sonido sea muy moderno.

Esta guitarra me lo regaló mi padre tiempo después de qué se fue de casa. Para él esa guitarra y va a ser su terapia, pero decidió regalármela porque en esa época veía que tenía mucho potencial para aprender a tocarla. De hecho esta guitarra es la que más uso para cuando quiero aprender o tocar, hacer algunos covers, de hecho aquí en Hive la han visto.

The third guitar was an inheritance from a friend who left the country. I always dreamed of owning an electric guitar, and more if it was a Gibson Les Paul type. It has been the guitar of my dreams, although this one is not a Gibson, but an Epiphone, its sound is quite similar to that guitar I mentioned. I love to play that guitar when I want to play pure alternative rock, punk rock, among others.

La tercera guitarra fue una herencia de un amigo que se fue del país. Yo siempre soñé tener una guitarra eléctrica y más si era tipo Gibson Les Paul. Ha sido la guitarra de mis sueños, aunque esta no es una Gibson, sino una Epiphone su sonido es bastante similar a esa guitarra que les menciono. Me encanta tocar esa guitarra cuando quiero hacer puro rock alternativo, punk rock, entre otros.

The fourth guitar is one of the most curious guitars you will see, it is called the Three String Cigar Box guitar, as the name suggests, it is shaped like an old cigarette box and is used a lot for playing blues music. What makes this guitar interesting is that it was handmade by a friend and comes straight from South Carolina.

That was the first guitar my friend made, and she wanted to give it to me as a gift. Even though I'm not an expert at playing it yet, I've been able to watch some videos, motivated to play some songs on it. I will surely be showing you some videos with it.

La cuarta guitarra es una de las guitarras más curiosas que podrán ver, se llama Three String Cigar Box guitar, cómo su nombre lo indica lleva la forma de una caja de cigarrillos antigua y es muy usada para tocar música blues. Lo que hace interesante a esta guitarra es que fue hecha a mano por una amiga y viene directamente desde Carolina del Sur.

Esa fue la primera guitarra que hizo mi amiga y quiso regalármela a mí. A pesar de qué todavía no soy un experto tocándola, he podido ver algunos videos, motivado a sacar algunas canciones en ella. Seguramente les estaré mostrando algún video con ella.

Along with this guitar, my friend gave me what is called a Jew's harp. I have tried to play something with this instrument, but it also requires a good technique and care not to get stuck in the teeth. Junto a esta guitarra, mi amiga me regaló lo que se llama un arpa judía. Now I want to introduce my keyboard. It is a two octave Arturia minilab that only works by connecting it to a device with music production software. I really like this instrument because I can make different sounds, I can do a lot of things despite being such a small instrument. In addition to its portability, which, I take it to many of my live concerts.

Ahora quiero presentar mi teclado. Es un Arturia minilab de dos octavas y que únicamente funciona conectándolo algún dispositivo que tenga un software de producción musical. Me gusta muchísimo este instrumento porque puedo sacar diferentes sonidos, puedo hacer muchas cosas a pesar de ser un instrumento tan pequeño. Además de su portabilidad, el cual llevo a varios de mis conciertos en vivo.

And now I want to show the favourite of my house, my piano. A Yamaha P 70 that has been my companion in life, in my adventures and has made my life very happy. Thanks to this piano, I fell in love with this instrument and I think I will never stop playing in my life.

It was quite a journey to bring this piano home. It comes from New York and you can imagine being at the airport with such a big box carrying it around that big airport, and trying to get it to Bogotá in the best possible way was quite an adventure.

Even though it is several years old, and it is not working, its 100% is still my faithful companion, and it is obviously the instrument I use the most.

Y ahora quiero mostrar el consentido de casa, mi piano. Un Yamaha P 70 que ha sido mi compañero de vida, de aventuras y que me ha hecho la vida muy feliz. Gracias a este piano me enamoré de este instrumento y creo que nunca en la vida voy a dejar de tocar.

Fue toda una travesía traer este piano a casa. Viene desde Nueva York y podrán imaginarse en el aeropuerto con una caja tan grande paseándola por ese gran aeropuerto, y tratar de que llegue de la mejor manera aquí a Bogotá fue toda una aventura.

A pesar de qué ya tiene varios años y que no está funcionando, su 100% sigue siendo mi compañero fiel y es el instrumento que obviamente más uso.
