The Mrs. @handofzara and I, this past week were binging on the series Normal People.

At the end of one of the episodes as the credits were rolling, I heard a familiar voice, a voice that I associated with my "wasted youth" in college somewhere buried in the last century.

I blurted out, "I know that voice!", I thought at first it was the Eurythmics but quickly decided against that choice.

Then it struck me, one of my personal favorite songs, from one of my favorite bands for late nights and many beers.

I did mention I had a "wasted youth".

And the song?

Only You by Yaz (called Yazoo in Britian).

Given the story line of Normal People, I believe this is a very appropriate song.

Of course this led me to just have to listen to one of the best songs of all time.

A song that has so many Gen X references that technology has almost wiped from the zeitgeist into the dustpan of history.

Take a listen and laugh at the references, references that are a relic of the past.

"I wish they'd fix the wires." Perhaps I should write a letter instead?

Upstairs at Eric's was a fantastic album that tore up the turn table player and blew out the three foot speakers until the cops showed up because of a "noise complaint".

Do you think really think the cops couldn't smell the cannabis?

Do any of you remember the phrase, "Quick hide that shit - the cops are here!"

I am not saying that I personally spoke that phrase, nor did I ever have to hide anything, but what I am saying is that I do recall that phrase in my wasted youth.

Seeing as this is a #threetunetuesday post I need to add a third tune about this here situation.

There you have it, @ablaze, three tunes on a Tuesday.

Enjoy or not?

Yaz! One of my favorite bands of the 80's! Alison Moyet has such a great voice.

In the 80's I visited some open air concerts including one with the Eurythmics. (Next to U2 and Phil Collins !!!). I had never heard of them but a friend of me asked me to come with him ;)
