Thought of Actions and Consequences.

Music is one of the most therapeutic art designed for both the mind and the Soul. The thought of reminiscing on good music gives the mind a sense of rest, and gives birth to inspirations that can inspire thoughtful creativities. The life of most writers would not have been so blessed with much creativity without music. I am a testimony to this fact, so much that I cannot read, write, study or even work freely and productive enough without having some music for my listening pleasure; I am pretty sure that many fall under the beautiful addiction.

Another beauty that the art called music provides, is the meaningfulness and thoughtfulness embedded in the lyrics of a good music. It can change lives, inspire human actions from negative to a more positive one both for immediate existential harvest and also for the sake of posterity.
In line with this thought, one song that has kept going throughout all my life decisions, actions and inactions is a song titled "How do you Want to be Remembered?" By the music band identified as Magic.

By the mere title of this song, lots of questions go through my mind. But the most important of all questions are; how do my actions affect me, the people around me and the world at large? Is it possible that my actions can inspire people to do good or bad? What is the legacy I would leave behind perhaps I leave this world today?

Magic ask similar questions and offered the same thoughts thus;
"How do you want to be remembered? As a sinner or a saint? As a hero or a villain? Think about the steps you take!"

My life!

I grew up from a family where thoughtfulness was far gone. The most important thing for my family was how to feed and stay alive till the next day. I saw my family live some kind of lifestyle that I always think to myself is wrong but cannot phantom the reason why they are really wrong right up until I left home and gained new experiences. Love, care, affection, meekness, sympathy and even respect to a great extent was lacking in my family.

When I first listened to magic, the first thing that came to my mind was the fact that I would never want to grow a father that seems anything close to the family I was groomed from. But then I realized that for two things not to bring about the same results, there must be differences in the process of how those things are done. If I really don't want to have such a family, I need to start checking my life and setting my actions on the right path. I need to start learning how to give love, be more open to learning, the more eager to apologize when I am wrong or even if I wasn't wrong but for the sake of those I value, be less aggressive and more open to listening, try and cultivate emotional intelligence towards everything I do; these were some things I never see my father do. I thought to become more loving, caring, affectionate, sympathetic and be respectful to all people be it my family or outside.

In my third year in the university, I explored the concept of humanism as an independent philosophy of existentialism. I then discovered that the greatest gift you can give to the world is to protect the course of humanity. Humanism believes that the human person is the architect of their success and also their failure. I decided to be the architect of people's success. I became more enthusiastic about the happiness of other people. This is because I want to live just how I want to be remembered.

Magic also asked; how do you want to be remembered when your children come of age, and they need some inspiration? I want to be a source of inspiration to my children. I want my children to see me as their role model. I want my children to want to build a family that is similar to my own family and not the case of me not wanting a family that's like my father's. Thinking about the steps I take today have given me the notch that I need to start early to straighten my life through my actions and inactions.

I got to understand one essential and general fact about life from this song and that is; our actions today will always affect how we will be seen in the future. It made me understand that today was once seen as tomorrow and would soon be considered as yesterday, therefore every character I exhibit today would always have an effect on my life tomorrow.
