Volviendo a la temporada de "El Sistema" 2026-2027.
Nuevamente en la rutina musical, con nuevos proyectos artÃsticos y con una gran cantidad de retos por delante, lo he dicho en varias ocasiones que tengo la dicha de estar rodeado de grandes músicos y personas con las que frecuentemente hago música.
Mi estimado y gran amigo Diego Belisario y el Maestro Luis Farias son en esta ocasión los protagonistas de este video junto a mi persona.
A medida que he hecho música con estos genios, me ido desarrollando poco a poco en diferentes estilos venezolanos, grabar no es fácil, pero a medida que vas haciéndolo lo transformas en una costumbre y es un momento que para mà es muy bonito, es único e irrepetible, una grabación jamás saldrá igual a otra, es la magia de hacer música en directo.
Poco a Poco - Aldemaro Romero.
El Maestro Aldemaro Romero fue el precursor del "Onda Nueva", un estilo musical que combina elementos de la música brasileña, venezolana y estadounidense, este género en su momento fue muy mal visto por la comunidad musical venezolana pero hoy en dÃa es uno de los estilos más hermosos y respetados de la escena musical tradicional venezolana.
Con toda la honestidad, me encanta el Onda Nueva y soy un gran admirador del trabajo que el maestro Aldemaro Romero nos dejó, muchas canciones y piezas que casi no se interpretan (una de ellas es esta "Poco a Poco")
Esta pieza que tocamos tiene una gran carga poética y musical, con un aire de parentesco a "Quinta Anauco". La letra en lo particular me gusta mucho porque tiene un toque de drama excepcional, y aunque no la cantamos aquÃ, en mi mente resuenan esas palabras tan llenas de realidad cuando nos enamoramos y no somos correspondidos, o no de la manera en que lo deseamos.

Back in the musical routine, with new artistic projects and a wealth of challenges ahead, I have said on several occasions that I am truly blessed to be surrounded by great musicians and wonderful people with whom I frequently make music.
My dear friend Diego Belisario and Maestro Luis Farias join me as the main figures in this video.
As I’ve made music with these geniuses, I have gradually developed my skills in various Venezuelan musical styles. Recording isn't easy, but as you keep doing it, it becomes second nature. For me, it is a genuinely beautiful, unique, and unrepeatable moment—no two recordings will ever turn out the same, and that is the magic of making live music.
Poco a Poco - Aldemaro Romero.
Maestro Aldemaro Romero was the pioneer of "Onda Nueva," a musical style blending elements of Brazilian, Venezuelan, and American music. While this genre was initially frowned upon by the Venezuelan musical community, today it is one of the most beautiful and respected styles in traditional Venezuelan music.
In all honesty, I love Onda Nueva and am a huge admirer of the legacy Maestro Aldemaro Romero left behind—a vast collection of songs and pieces that are rarely performed, including "Poco a Poco."
This piece carries immense poetic and musical weight, with an air reminiscent of "Quinta Anauco." I particularly love the lyrics because they possess an exceptional dramatic flair. Even though we don't sing them here, those words—so grounded in reality—echo in my mind about falling in love and not having those feelings reciprocated, or at least not in the way we hope.

Technically, this trio setup with cuatro and double bass gives the piece exactly the kind of warm, woody texture that "Quinta Anauco"-adjacent works call for — that interplay between the rhythmic drive of the cuatro and the grounding pulse of the bass is what really lets the poetic, almost melancholic character of the melody breathe. You can hear the chemistry between you, Diego, and Maestro Luis Farias — that's not something you can fake, it comes from playing together often.

Hay algo especial en "Poco a Poco" — el estilo Onda Nueva de Aldemaro Romero tiene una voz tan distintiva, fusionando esa sensibilidad rÃtmica venezolana con el lenguaje armónico de la música brasileña y estadounidense. Es fascinante que al principio fuera recibido con resistencia por los puristas, cuando hoy suena como una de las fusiones más naturales de la tradición venezolana.
Técnicamente, este trÃo con cuatro y contrabajo le da a la pieza exactamente esa textura cálida y "de madera" que las obras cercanas a "Quinta Anauco" requieren — ese diálogo entre el impulso rÃtmico del cuatro y el pulso profundo del contrabajo es lo que realmente permite que el carácter poético, casi melancólico, de la melodÃa respire. Se nota la quÃmica entre tú, Diego y el Maestro Luis Farias — eso no se puede fingir, viene de tocar juntos con frecuencia.
Me identifiqué mucho con lo que escribiste sobre lo irrepetible de una grabación en vivo — esa es toda la magia, ¿no?
