Hola amigas y amigos Hivers cubanos. Espero tengan un bendecido y bien alegre fin de semana. El mío está siendo de maravilla por varias razones que les contaré. Ando visitando a mi papá con mi mamá en la capital de todos los cubanos y además podré estar en el próximo evento del día 22, así que espero poder conocerles en persona, hacer amistades y aprender mucho más sobre nuestro lugar seguro.

Para mí volver a La Habana es siempre motivo de alegría. Los aires habaneros me renuevan la mente y el espíritu dándome ganas de hacer más y de volar y ser feliz. Acá se siente como en casa. Es donde me gusta estar. Desde la autopista se pueden percibir las buenas vibras. Soy de las que va escuchando música y viendo como el paisaje que conozco va quedando atrás mientras me acerco más a mi destino.

Este viaje en particular ha sido especial. Siempre en algún momento de mis posts hablo de mi magisterio y de los idiomas porque son mi pasión y mi labor diaria. La música es mi otra pasión. Soy artista aficionada y de vez en cuando participo en alguna actividad cantando y compartiendo mi arte. Hasta ahora es solamente hobbie ya que me he centrado más en desarrollar los idiomas y mi carrera como docente. Puede entonces que esta sea la arrancada hacia una carrera musical más seria, nadie sabe el día de mañana que puede traer.

Entonces ayer por primera vez entré a un estudio de grabación para que mi trabajo quedara guardado para siempre. Nunca antes había tenido esa experiencia y les cuento que se sintió magnífico. Milagrosamente no estuve nerviosa en ningún momento, y digo milagrosamente porque mis nervios suelen ponerse incómodos en momentos donde los necesito bien lejos.

Cantar para mí es sinónimo de paz y de disfrute y realmente así fue, entonces supongo que por eso estuve tan tranquila.

Todo sucedió en los estudios del ISA (Instituto Superior de Arte). Primera vez que llego hasta allá también. Mis padres me acompañaron también en esta experiencia. Gracias a Dios ellos nunca me abandonan. Al entrar fuimos recibidos por un extenso paisaje verde y un terreno con algunas elevaciones pequeñas. Inmensa la tranquilidad y la hermosura de todo aquello. Es fácil notar que ahí conviven artistas.

Debía ser todo en un determinado horario antes de que nos alcanzara la fatalidad del apagón, y gracias a Dios todo salió de maravilla. Hicimos dos tomas de cada canción y sobró tiempo para hacer fotos al final.

Fue todo un reto, porque al vivir en Pinar del Río y a pesar de haber contactado con el muchacho que me acompañaría en la guitarra, no nos conocíamos en lo absoluto y mucho menos habíamos ensayado antes de grabar. Él tiene gran talento y dominio de lo que hace, entonces al vernos en persona la conexión musical se dió al instante. En el sonido estuvo una muchacha también muy talentosa y conocedora de lo que hace. Amable y atenta. Entonces se me hizo más fácil todo.

Al final de la sesión tuve la oportunidad de escuchar todo el trabajo que se había echo y quedé enormemente impresionada. No es lo mismo verte en un video que alguien grabó a que escucharse con tanta calidad en el sonido y tan clara tu voz. Ese fue de los momentos más emocionantes de mi vida en 23 años que tengo.

Hello Cuban Hivers friends. I hope you have a blessed and joyful weekend. Mine is going great for several reasons that I will tell you about. I am visiting my dad with my mom in the capital of all Cubans and I will also be able to be at the next event on the 22nd, so I hope to meet you in person, make friends and learn much more about our safe place.

For me, returning to Havana is always a source of joy. The Havana air renews my mind and spirit, making me want to do more and to fly and be happy. It feels like home here. It's where I like to be. From the highway you can feel the good vibes. I am one of those who listen to music and see how the landscape I know is being left behind as I get closer to my destination.

This particular trip has been special. At some point in my posts I always talk about my teaching and languages because they are my passion and my daily work. Music is my other passion. I am an amateur artist and from time to time I participate in some activity singing and sharing my art. So far it is only a hobby as I have focused more on developing languages and my teaching career. So maybe this is the start of a more serious musical career, no one knows what tomorrow may bring.

So yesterday for the first time I went into a recording studio to have my work saved forever. I had never had that experience before and it felt great. Miraculously I wasn't nervous at any time, and I say miraculously because my nerves tend to get uncomfortable at times when I need them far away.

Singing for me is synonymous with peace and enjoyment and it really was, so I guess that's why I was so calm.

It all happened in the studios of ISA (Instituto Superior de Arte). It was my first time there as well. My parents also accompanied me in this experience. Thank God they never leave me. Upon entering we were greeted by a vast green landscape and a terrain with some small elevations. The tranquility and beauty of it all was immense. It is easy to notice that artists live there.

Everything had to be on a certain schedule before the fatal blackout hit us, and thank God it all worked out wonderfully. We did two takes of each song and there was plenty of time to take pictures at the end.

It was quite a challenge, because living in Pinar del Río and despite having contacted the boy who would accompany me on guitar, we did not know each other at all and much less had we rehearsed before recording. He has great talent and mastery of what he does, so when we saw each other in person the musical connection was instantaneous. On the sound was a girl also very talented and knowledgeable about what she does. Kind and attentive. So it made everything easier for me.

At the end of the session I had the opportunity to listen to all the work that had been done and I was enormously impressed. It's not the same to see yourself in a video that someone recorded as it is to hear yourself with such quality sound and such a clear voice. That was one of the most exciting moments of my life in the 23 years that I have.
