'Song 34' - New Original Music - A Quick Jam from Today...

from today, but, instead of just messing around in Ableton, I decided to try and use the Digitakt, Syntakt, Digitone, guitar(s) and bass, and just see what happens. I set a few rules, like no going back and completely deleting ideas once I played/recorded them 'decently', and didn't spend a ton of time picking sounds, instead just quickly scrolling through things like the Digitone and picking stuff on first listen. There is a bit of fretless guitar, which, with the Microcosm, creates the bleepy, distorted sounds at the beginning of the track (and in the 2nd verse when it repeats). I used my Super-Sonic for chords, which also runs through the Microcosm to get some nice reverb heavy swells. The Jag bass is totally dry, just providing the basic bass line. The Syntakt adds a few sounds, mostly single note lines in the background, and the Digitone provides our drums, which also go through the Microcosm, using one of the glitchy effects to get some weirdness. Overall, I don't dislike this idea, it's definitely rough but that's sort of a function of having a half hour and purposefully not spending time 'perfecting' things. I think maybe this would be a fun idea to re-do, and really take some time to work things out, make it more of a coherent song.
