This started out yesterday as just

Track 15, ROLI Synth, Melody
two tracks, what are now Tracks 6 and 7, recorded from a LABS electric keyboard. There is a basic progression that begins the song, then variations on that, pictured below. That is in purple in Track 6. Track 7 uses the simpler version for the whole song, however I pitch shifted sections, up an octave, down a 4th, up a 4th, to get some interesting harmonies. Track 6 also changes at one point; it shifts down a whole step, while Track 7 stays at its original pitch in that part. I wound up with 3 different sections, seen in Track 6 as the yellow, purple and green parts. I copy-pasted that a few times, in a few different combinations so its not just repeating the same 3 things in the same order. I then decided to add a drum track (Track 9), which was at first a super basic beat. I spent some time tweaking it with a filter, then a metallic drum sound with a phaser, some delay. When layered with Track 10 (which adds some noises and sounds, altered from tom sounds originally) and Track 11 (hi-hats/shakers), the beat wound up being much more interesting.

Track 12 is just a transitional sound,

used 2x, which is sort of a noisey crunch, that pitchbends upwards to move us back into the 'main' section. Track 13 was a bass synth, though it got pitched up and adds a background sound over two parts, spread apart pretty far in the tune, just to keep things varied. Track 14 is a ROLI synth, and adds the little melody to the right above. Track 15 uses the same chords as the purple section of the LABS keys, but with a distorted ROLI sound, with an LFOTool for some rhythm. Finally, we have Track 16. This was an actual bassline I recorded with the ol' Mustang bass. It ran through the Microcosm pedal for a slight bit of reverb and modulation, and I wound up quantizing the lines ever so slightly. I also warped the clips a bit, to get some interesting glitchy artifacts at some points, particularly on some bass slides. I also added a Thermal distortion to it, which is only used on the purple sections (which are the 'main' bit, the most filled sort of Chorus part I supposed), which gives it sort of a synthy sound that I like a lot. Overall, this is probably the most detailed tune in a while, or at least the one I spent the most time really tweaking, rather than a quite timed challenge or anything, and I'm happy with the results!
