of mine, a group I have loved for a LONG time now, legitimately since my very first listen. My friend showed them to me along with a ton of other obscure bands and artists he knew about; he lived in a college town and a bunch of his friends in the local music scene ran college radio stations, or had toured small punk circles around the country when they were younger, so he was exposed to a TON of bands that I had really no other means of finding. The Bananas are a band I've always felt deserves a TON more attention and credit. They're so fun, catchy, heartfelt, but don't play many (if any) shows nowadays. I happened to get lucky and saw them in San Francisco with my younger brother a decade or so ago, where they were the opening act for the Vivian Girls and Best Coast (who had yet to become a huge indie act). It was SO fun, and maybe the best 35 minutes of concert I've ever attended.
