Ramones - Don't Come Close

Ramones are, without a doubt,

one of the most famous bands of all time; even people who don't know their music specifically can identify the band by name, or by their signature look. I don't really know when I first heard them, they've just been a band who've I've always known about, though I do distinctly remember becoming interested in them with Napster and file-sharing. Over the years, I've always appreciated their influence and how important they were and are for popular music overall, though in the last few years I've garnered a much deeper love for the band. What I've found from exploring their discography more is that, while they have plenty of fast, 3-chord, catchy tunes, they experimented with all kinds of songwriting and styles. This song is from their classic 1978 album Road to Ruin, although it is a great example of an exception to their sound. While this album has those 3-chord tunes, this song uses clean guitars, and has more of a power-pop kind of thing going on, which personally I love. It's such a catchy number, and has become a favorite "driving around" tune for me.
