Pinback before on this blog, which is odd because I've been a huge fan for as far back as I remember. I've recently been on a bit of a Pinback binge though, so they seemed appropriate. I first discovered them through a friend of mine; he essentially ONLY listened to obscure underground hip-hop, but also had a love of Pinback and got me instantly hooked, remaining a fan ever since. The band has such an interesting sound... there is a simplicity to the guitar and bass lines, though harmonically they do some really exciting, interesting stuff. I've always loved the overall vibe, it's just so chill and really hits the spot every time, taking me back to that place when I first heard the group. This song is from their 1999 self-titled album, which I (and others) consider a classic now. The band's sound really started here, and this album still sounds absolutely incredible, even 25 years later.
