NRBQ - Magnet

I am actually not sure when I first

discovered NRBQ, though it was sometime in the last two years, as I only have them in relatively recent playlists on Spotify. I am almost positive that they were a related artist of a related artist of some other group, and the name seemed interesting, so I checked out their tunes, and was surprised by variety of sounds and styles. The name NBRQ is an abbreviation of New Rhythm and Blues Quintet, and the band was originally formed in 1965 by Terry Adams, Joey Spampinato, and Steve Furgeson, though the group did break up, and reform in 1967. Over the decades since, they've had quite a few members, and have released 24 albums as of 2021, and a bunch of compilations, singles and live albums. This song is from their 1972 album Scraps, which was their first album with Al Anderson, a guitarist and singer, who from this point would stay with the band for the next two decades, becoming a fixture of the group. This song is really cool, and has a bit of a jazz influence, and is definitely super catchy. It was the tune that I first heard that got me to check out their discography.
