Grapthar's Daily Hive Music Feature: Kurt Vile - 'Palace of OKV in Reverse'

here every few weeks, which is interesting since I only discovered his music in earnest late last year. Kurt Vile started his music career as the lead guitarist for the War on Drugs, a Pennsylvania based indie band. From 2005 to 2008 he was in the band, but eventually left to focus on his solo career, which it turns out was the right move as he has had quite a bit of success since. Vile's style takes elements of psychedelic, indie, and folk, with a sort of lo-fi production. I got into his music with his most recent album (watch my moves), which I think is still my favorite overall, though I've been getting into a lot of his older music too, as the whole discography is worth checking out. Today's song is from (watch my moves), and his definitely synthier and more '80s influenced than his earlier stuff. The production is less lo-fi too, more full and layered, though the catchiness and great songwriting is there still, just handled slightly differently.
