Grapthar's Daily Hive Music Feature: Jeremy Jay - 'Slow Dance'

Jeremy Jay - Slow Dance
I've shared Jeremy Jay here once

before, but it has been a while; I actually stumbled onto his music through a surf video on Youtube. I don't usually watch surf video, and I hadn't ever heard of Jay before, so it was a nice random discovery. I hadn't ever really delved into the world of indie pop in any real way until the last five or six years. I'm glad I was open to it, cause I was definitely missing out on some really cool artists, like Jay. Jay started playing music in his early youth, initially taking up trumpet in the school band, but eventually teaching himself the guitar as well. He started recording his own music in 8th grade, continuing that throughout high school. At 18 he left LA and went to Portland, OR, and eventually found a producer who liked his demos and helped him record more music. He would move back to LA, then Paris, and has been releasing music all throughout the '00s and teens. Today's song is the title track on his 2009 album, and was my introduction to his music through the surf video. This still remains a personal favorite of mine, as I love the overall timbres used, and the slow groove.
