Goo Goo Dolls - Living in a Hut

So, I know the big hits from these guys,

like most people I'm sure, but never have called myself "a fan" really. But, the other day for no real reason, I looked them up on Spotify and went back to the very start of their discography, specifically their 1987 self-titled album. I had no idea the band was that old even, and was even more surprised to find a punk rock album. I supposed it fits, a lot of the bands that became big '90s alt hits started their careers as punk/hardcore bands. This song (and the album) reminded me a lot of the Lemonheads first album and career direction; they started off fast, but with that melodic, late '80s hardcore sorta thing (reminiscent of Dag Nasty), and eventually slowed down, became poppier, and found themselves with big MTV hit songs. Overall, the album isn't a classic, but it has some great tracks, and the novelty of hearing Goo Goo Dolls play punk is worth the listen.
