Crystal Stilts - Shake the Shackles

I found this band today, literally

like 5 hours ago, so I figured they'd be a great choice. I've become a big fan of the surf themed podcast Pinch My Salt, hosted by pro-surfer and surf-comedy legend Sterling Spencer and his cousin Ryan. In 2011, Spencer released the first internet surf video (meaning, available for free on YouTube, and not sold exclusively on DVD like previous surf videos had been). This song was in one of the segments, and I really liked what I heard, leading me to check out the album it's from and the band's discography. Crystal Stilts is currently a 5-piece band based in Brooklyn, NY, consisting of Brad Hargett, JB Townsend, Kyle Forester, Andy Adler, and Keegan Cooke, though they have had some other members over the years, also existing as a 4-piece for a period of time. Although the band was technically formed in 2003, they only have 3 full length albums, as they are released over quite long periods of time, with a few EPs in between. This comes from their 2011 release In Love With Oblivion, and is such a cool, sort of post-punk influenced indie kinda thing. The rest of the album turned out to be pretty great as well, though I haven't listened to it enough yet to really give a rating I don't think. As I find other favorites in their discography, I'll share them here I'm sure.
